Party time!

First I must apologise for not posting on Friday, but life seemed to get a bit on top of me this week with preparations for Alex's birthday party and having the carpets cleaned. We held Alex's birthday party at Jungle Mania for him and 9 friends from nursery and needless to say he (and they) had a wonderful time clambering round the equipment, bouncing on the bouncy castle, diving into the ball pit and generally running round.
When the party food was ready they lined all the kids up at the bottom of the slide and played the music 'I like to move it move it' and had them dance in a procession round the room to the food table.
Alex then was given a throne chair to sit in while they ate, and at the end of the meal his birthday cake came out (I cheated and bought him a Toy Story one), the candles were lit and we all sang Happy Birthday to him, much to his delight, before he blew the candles out.  All in all the party was a great success, with no major upsets and everyone having a good time - I must confess we were all tired at the end of it.
Today for Mother's day we have had a much more gentle day with presents (more Lavinia stamps to add to my collection) and card in bed this morning, followed by time to craft and then a trip out to the park in the afternoon (we were caught in one rain shower, but still managed to have a good time).  Alex is on cracking form at the moment, developing a really cheeky sense of humour so we spent most of our trip out in fits of giggles.  What is more, Tim has decided that I need another treat so we are having a take away tonight with a movie after Alex has gone to bed...what a wonderful weekend.
Crafting wise I have made several cards over the past few days.  This one was made for a lady who I always think of as my second Mother.  I have known her all my life and she has always been there for me in everything. She is the same age as Mother, and is a very elegant lady hence the elegant feel to this card.  Do you recognise the design?  It is actually the sketch from Less is more from last week but turned sideways on. I am entering this card for the 'stitching' challenge from The Pixie Cottage,  'For Mum' from Paper Play and Delicious Doodles, and the song 'Vogue' from Scrap it with a song.
I have also made a card using my new stamps for the Less is More challenge, which is to use a hint of red. As my new stamps were a set of Poppy stamps this was not difficult!  I stamped the poppies in versafine using black for the flower head and green for the stems and leaves. I then coloured the flowers using promarkers and highlighted with sakura stardust. I am also entering this into Delightful challenges and All sorts 'flowers' challenges.
I also made a few thank you cards for Alex to give to his friends. These use the Robbie the Robot digi stamp from the very talented Spyder, which I have coloured in with promarker pens. The sentiment was also generated on the computer. I am entering these into Aud Sentiments 'card for a child' and Stamp something 'digi stamps' and I guess they also fit with the Less is More challenge!

That is all from me for now. Have a great week everyone.
Love,
Caro
