Advent fun continued! (WOYWW)

Not long to go now and I am possibly even more excited than Alex!  Today is his school nativity play in which he plays a traveller who has to say 'Bethlehem is far away'. Of course I was sat there with all the other parents bursting with pride at my little boy who spoke his line more clearly than anyone else.
That is why I am late in showing you my desk as part of WOYWW.  This is what it looked like yesterday evening not long before going to bed.  You will notice the chaos of Christmas papers and absence of my usual mug of tea...that is because my mug was sitting downstairs all washed up and ready for today! The chaos on my desk is a whole host of freebie papers that came with scrapbook magazine last year (and probably the previous year as well!).  I have decided to use them to make a mini scrapbook album of events that happened on the run up to Christmas this year.
This is the third page I have made so far using Bo Bunny papers and showcasing a rare picture of me (hugging Alex who is, as usual, pulling a very silly face!).  I am entering this into Kaboodle Doodles 'Christmas Anything goes' and the crazy challenge 'Christmas time'
The next page is of Alex meeting Santa last weekend.  I just love the panel that says 'Dear Santa, I can explain'!  I am entering this into SSSS 'giftspiration' (the whole album will be a gift for Alex and the page is about santa giving him a gift), My Time To Craft 'santa' and Lasting Memories 'be inspired by The Polar Express' (I was inspired by 'believe' - the background paper on my layout says 'i believe in santa).
Finally to finish I wanted to share this page from my faith album which is all about Advent.  On the lefthand side it is all about the things that Advent is not (stress, rushing, shopping, cleaning, cooking, a race to Dec 25th) and on the righthand side it is all about the things that Advent is...(expectant waiting, hopeful anticipation, and cheerful preparation of God coming into our lives).  Enjoy the rest of advent.
Love,
Caro

Lovely post Caro and Alex looks so sweet. Well done to him no wonder you were so proud.
I agree with your thoguhts about advent and that is what it has been for me tihs year. I refused to be stressed and I've been so moved by the terrible event in Connecticut so we have so much to be grateful for.
Have a wonderful Christmas with your precious family and health and happiness for 2013.

That pic of Alex is just so cute! Your scrapbook pages are wonderful and so are the papers that you used. I love the one about what Advent is not - very clever and oh so true for most. I am quite chilled this year, being retired helps as I can get everything done early... Hope you have a wonderful festive season. Hugs, Anne x #20

Hi Caro,

What a little cutie pie! How proud you must be! Yep, I can see where the two of you would have fun making the peppermint bark!

Your scrapbook pages are great. I love that "Santa, I can explain" too. Tee hee.

We love free papers, and free stamps, in fact we're suckers for magazine freebies. The trouble is, we have a stash of them waiting to be used now.

Thanks for visiting The House of Bears. :)

Hi Caro how lovely of you to leave a comment on my blog. I always look at yours and see how you and your family are. I'm afraid I never manage the Craft Forum these days and don't always manage to comment on all the blogs I look at.
Alex is growing up so quickly - just like my grandchildren. He made a fine traveler in the Nativity play. My grandson Sam ( the same age and year as Alex - his second name is Alex :-) ) was a King/Wiseman as was my granddaughter. Went to see Ella perform but was not able to get to see Sam.
Matthew my eldest son has now moved to Holmfirth so we are a little closer.
Auntie still managing to be quite independent!! We will be up in Sheffield again in the New Year for a check on her eye.
Well sorry for long post on your blog. Hope that you and your family enjoy a Happy and Peaceful Christmas and New Year. Love from Anne x

Ah, a little lad with a tea towel on his head!! Been there, done that! I was playing piano for two performances of the Nativity in school this week, the sheep were riotous!!
Love your beautiful LOs, such lovely memories. And you CAN make drawstring sacks. I lined mine but you don't have to - they're easy. Try www.freeneedle.com for some great free patterns.
Wishing you a wonderful Christmas!

Beautiful pictures beautifully presented. I have no time to craft until after the day now - unless I have another bad night's sleep (painting at 3 am - not to be recommended, I was so cold) Have a wonderful Christmas. xx Maggie #48
