Well I have been busy this week getting the house tidied up ready for my parents coming to stay at the weekend. The only problem is that my hoover has broken, which is somewhat frustrating! All this has meant that I have done very little crafting, although on Tuesday evening I did manage to do a little to my smash book again as you can see (this is my entry for WOYWW). To the left of my desk is a little clutter and mayhem in the form of thank you notes, notices from church, scrap paper, those two paints (STILL!). In the middle is my smash book and my trusty mug of tea and on the little shelf just above the mug are the new inhabitants of my craft room...a little family of knitted octopi! Please see my previous blog post for details of the family.
As you can see I finally got round to finishing the double page layout in my smash book - I showed you the left hand page a few weeks ago, but having had a few disasters on the right hand page, it took a while to find a way around them. The end result doesn't look too bad fortunately!
And to finish, I thought I would share this photo of Alex off to his first ever beaver camp at the weekend. He came back filthy, happy and exhausted having had a fantastic time - the best bit was the mud slide followed by the water fight! That is all from me for now. Have a great week everyone.
Love
Caro

I'm doing a quick blog dash before I get started this morning cos we have another estate agent coming today to take pics of our house so it needs a final hoover and tidy through :-)
Sorry to hear your hoover has broken....I have pictures in my mind of you on your hands and knees with a dustpan and brush now :-)
Hugs,

oh, bless him with that big back-pack! They all seem to enjoy getting muddy and/or wet!! Love the smash book. Helen 5
Hello Caro. Hate a broken hoover especially when guests are due! Love the octopi family - have read your post about them. Did you put in clean clothes for Alex for beaver camp only to find he didn't change :-) usually what happens with Harry (GS) and was same with his daddy and uncle when they used to go!!! Like the LO's. Anne x #73
"Filthy, happy and exhausted" seems to sum up little boys enjoying themselves. Have a lovely time with your parents.

Love the picture of your lad ready for his adventure without mum and dad, happy times

My sons always to come back from camp in the same clothes that they left home in...with no evidence of the washbag having been used, or even opened! Still, they're still here proving that a bit of dirt never hurt anyone!!
Hugs, LLJ 40 xx
Young boys+mud+water( as long as it doesn't involve soap)= total happiness, lol.Love the octopi family, very cool. have a great week, hugs Shaz #125 xx

Oh wow I bet Alex had a great time (my son was a right wimp, I had to go and pick him up!! and they were only in the scout hut!!!) Happy WOYWW Cindy #95
great looking desk and I love the smash book pages! Alex looks like he is eagerly anticipating the campout! Made it to several Jamborees in the UK, Norwich in 1991, Gilwell in 1994 1998, and Wales in 2002! Celebrated my 50th in Norwich in 2002! Lots of fun and lots of differences in American Scouters and British Scouts. We restructured our troop to be more like the UK groups we interacted with. DS is an Eagle...highest level in US. Never regretted the time we spent in Scouts. Love the Octopi family btw!
I didn't make it around to many blogs last week so I promised myself that I would visit everyone who visited me last week first this week. I hope you have a great week and thanks for sharing. Vickie #26
