Busy on WOYWW!

Well as the title says I am rather busy so there hasn't been as much crafting this week as I would have liked, however, this evening (I am cheating by writing this on Tuesday evening) I have actually had to make a quick emergency card, as Alex's best friend is going to live in New Zealand and he leaves school this week.  So for WOYWW you can see my desk in the midst of making the card.  I basically pulled a lot of my blue/green scraps and papers out of my drawers until I found something I wanted to work with so there is a pile of papers on the desk, the card itself with the final pieces waiting to be assembled, a rubber stamp and ink pad and my trusty mug of tea.
Here is the completed card...rather simple as I was in a rush, but effective I hope!  The photo is one I took of the two boys while we were clambering round Higger Tor. Alex now has a copy in his room.
I couldn't go without showing you a photo of the new edition to my desk menagerie - MONKEY!  I am a tea addict and so Tim gave me a cuddly monkey as a treat.  He looks a little like King Kong looming over the octopus family, but it certainly makes me smile.  That is all from me for now.  Have a great week everyone.
Love
Caro

What a lovely keepsake for the boys. We're rather impressed with your octopus family but they look nothing like their dad, hee hee.

Aw, poor Alex..it feels like the end of the world when your bestie moves away and you can't get much further away than NZ!
Your enormous Monkey made me laugh, esp your King Kong wisecrack, lol! Does that mean you're Fay Wray?? ;-)

Me again! I've made sets of 6 wine charms, silver hoops with different coloured beads on each that you hook around the glass stems so people know which is their glass at get togethers. I'll try to show a close up next week!

Alex will miss having his friend around won't he? That's a lovely happy photo to use for his card.
I have enough trouble finding space for everything on my desk without adding large cuddley monkeys, but he is rather fun, and if he makes you smile then he has earned his place there! Kate x #84

What a cute monkey, you desk looks productive even if you say it is not. I like looking for all the bits n bobs on the desk that people have, I find it interesting.

Thanks for popping in and saying hi.

Hi Caro,

The card is perfect - too bad he'd moving away. You can tell how much they enjoy eachother's company - such a great photo.

Thank you for visiting me already. I'm slowly making it around.

Happy belated WOYWW

Hello Caro. What a lovely card - but Alex is going to miss his friend! Hope all has gone well this week for you all.
Thanks for visiting and your comments. Yes, there are times and seasons in our lives, aren't there? I dropped out of helping with most things when my girls were small. Now we are in a new season of life - called retirement, and it is busier than all the other seasons!! Hubby is church secretary, and I'm part of the worship group - also help out with creating things for the Uganda work our church is involved in.... you get the picture.
