WOYWW487

I'm running a little late today on my weekly update to show you my desk, but better late than never.  If you don't know what I am talking about then head over to 'Head desker' Julia's blog for details.
Here is my desk in all its current chaos... I am trying to catch up with my journal hence the stickers, the journal, stamps and general mess everywhere.  Also on my desk are my watercolour crayons - they fell out of the tin and I now don't know what I have done with the tin! - my nearly empty mug and peeping from underneath the mess two new books to read and my prayer ministry team badge from the church weekend away.
Our church weekend away was absolutely fantastic.  116 of us went to Swanick where we had so much food, love, laughter, worship, food, hugs, table-tennis, food, tears, Jesus, healing, food, crafts, kites, joy and food (I won't need to eat for a week!). Adrian and Bridgett Plass were fantastic, both entertaining and deep at the same time and it was wonderful to see everyone from age 2-93 enjoying different aspects of the weekend and all getting on nicely.
The weather was very kind and so the kite making session was very popular, although there wasn't a great deal of wind for flying them!
I wasn't expecting large numbers for the crafting session I ran, but I ended up with 20 people in all ranging in age from 3-93 all decorating rocks and candles.  It was lovely to see the younger ones and the older ones interacting so well together.  That's all from me for now. Have a great week everyone.
Love
Caro

Sounds like the weekend was a huge success. I bet the young ones were so loved by the 93 year old. I saw something somewhere about them taking a group of three year olds into an old folks home and how this had brightened the lives of the older folk. If you don't have a grandchild then you should adopt one when you get old seems to be the message.
Love your desk picture - that is just like me. Empty a tin or something similar and then cannot find it afterwards. I am sure it will tukrn up and all will be tidy before next week.
Blessings, Neet 7 xx

I love a chaotic desk, Caro! I'm so glad you had such a good time at Swanwick. I went there several years ago for a conference run by Answers in Genesis and it was superb. It's a great place, but a long way to go for me, right down on the south coast of Devon!! Thank you for your lovely comment and for your good wishes for my health issues, and I'm glad you enjoyed seeing Ruby being a sweetie-pie and also my boxy bits!

God bless and happy belated WOYWW,

What a lovely time you had with your church gathering Caro - I bet they loved your crafty sessions. Email me with your details and I will send you a few "empty" Christmas puds. FOC - if only a few, the postage will be letter post so don't worry. Co-op and Asda have Terry's choc oranges for £1 at the moment if you want to buy them at roughly half price! xx Jo

Sounds like an awesome, warm and wonderful time - you talking about kite-making made me remember that I did that with my dad... I can almost smell the glue and that special paper he bought for that (don't know the english name...) and afterwards we went to the beach nearby to fly the kite. Precious memories that you just helped me remember, thank you! Thank you also for your visit to my blog earlier, happy belated woyww. Big hug from Holland. Marit

Sounds like a very uplifting weekend Caro, how wonderful for you. The pebble painting was a tremendous success, am glad that 20 odd didn’t cause you to panic! Sorry, but have to smile at the tin for the watercolour pencils, oh the story of my life, especially when in a hurry to catch up with stuff! love the photo of Alex smiling at you from amongst the desk stuff, lovely.

Hi Caro. What a great time away - it sounds like everyone will want another weekend as soon as possible! So much fun!!! Yes - I sing every other week in our worship group - we have two groups and do alternate Sundays - I also lead occasionally - like tomorrow - so this time I shall be singing into a microphone three weeks in a row!!! Unfortunately, my voice isn't what it was - much more limited range now - but then, I am rapidly approaching my three score years and ten!! But folks seem to appreciate that I still sing.
Take care. have a quieter weekend. God bless.
