My desk is actually looking rather clean and boring at the moment because I was writing an assignment for my church of ministry course last night and am marking exam scripts today. The tea is there for sustenance!
This is a much more interesting view of my desk last Saturday where I am actually putting my Tim Holtz glass mat to use and creating a card with Distress oxides, stencils and stamps.
The party was great fun, and I was sensible about the post viral fatigue and leading church services the following day so left by 11 (some of the others continued until 5.30am !!!). This is me and another colleague looking rather flushed on the dance floor.
I promised I would show some of Alex's artwork if I was allowed. He is currently working on a top secret project which I am not currently allowed to photograph, although I can tell you it is a 3D model of an Ork Gargant (it is about 2 foot tall). He did however, give me permission to show you this cartoon - it is himself imagined as a cartoon character. He is wearing a buff round his neck, a hoodie and a necklace he wears.
I'm afraid that I am going to be late with commenting this week as I have an information evening at school after work today. I hope you all have a good week
With love and God Bless,
Caro

Oh my Caro, you have it all going on. I’d forgotten about exam season on top, too! You must be very post viral aware, you don’t want a set-back. I adore Alex’s cartoon self, I think Buffs are a very cool invention and he looks recognisably Alex as a ‘toon! So you’re liking the glass mat then, good to see it in use...there’s nothing like a deadline to force a bit of use, it’s a lovely card.
That is a great drawing of himself. What a super talent he has - let's see more of his drawings please. How old is he, just remind me?
Love your card too, so bright and happy, it made me smile in a nice glowing kind of way so I am sure the birthday girl loved it - and her party - wow until 5.30 - even firing on all cylinders could you have made it to the end?
Glad to hear you are getting there
Hugs & Blessings, Neet 11 xx
That's a cracking self portrait from Alex he's got every proportion perfect. Love the attention to detail he's added, fabulous work. I hope you get to share his TOP SECRET piece when it's finished too.. I bet your friend loved her card, she looks fab at 50. Happy WoywW Hugs Tracey #10
I love my craft mat. I purchased a glass scrapper because I'm always dribbling glue on it and forgetting to wipe it off.

Hi Caro, fab drawing by Alex, he's done a great job with 'cartooning' himself! Love your card, the colours are gorgeous. Hope you are keeping well, and the post viral fatigue isn't too bad. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #3 X
Gorgeous card Caro. Try and take it easy.....love Alex as a cartoon! Helen #1
Enjoying your oxide backgrounds. And compliments to Alex. Love seeing people enjoy art and being creative. Enjoy your free time and #4 before I forget.
I'm late visiting today but have been head down sewing all day and have now finished the next 5 Memory characters apart from their labels so have decided to call it a day now and will do them frest in the morning.
I can see Alex follows in the footsteps of his talented mum. Love his picture. I'm suffering in sympathy with you this week with a head cold that is making me feel pretty washed out but work goes on :-).

What an amazing cartoon piece by Alex! Can't wait to see his model when it's done (if he gives permission to share). Great card too. Glad you are being sensible while you are still getting back to full strength. Happy WOYWW. Sarah #2
Hi Caro, loving Alex's work and it's very kind of him to allow us to see it. Nice card. I had to smile when you said it was ready just in time, sounds familiar. Wishing you a happy and creative woyww, Angela x16x
Great card Caro. Glad you are remembering to not overdo things. Alex is talented, just like his mum! Anne x 19
Hi Caro, sounds like it's a particularly busy for you at this time. The 50th card is lovely and the party sounds fabulous, even if you still have to take care and not do too much. Alex is showing that he not only has artistic talent but a sense of humour too. Have a good week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #20
Well done Alex - your cartoon pic is fab - it's so clever to be able to do that! You sound to be busy Caro - have a good week - don't forget to rest too! xx Jo
Great card, Caro - I love the colours you've chosen for the DO background, and I am sure your friend loved it. It looks as if you had a fun time at her party! I am very glad to hear you are being careful to guard against the post-viral fatigue. I know only too well what that can lead to... I hope your course is going OK. Alex's drawing is a stunner. No need to ask where he got his talent!!! I'm sure we'd all love to see more, if he's not too embarrassed! Thank you for your visit - so glad you liked my creative efforts this week. I've got 2 more shutter cards half done, one of which is going to be a Valentine card for my hubby if I can get it done in time! The pants do seem to fit OK, but I need to wear them for a few hours to make sure they fit properly and don't cut in anywhere. I think they will be fine, though.
Happy belated WOYWW,

HI Caro, ooh smiled from ear to ear over the self portrait cartoon and don't you just love those glass mats :) Love the colors in the birthday card too. ~Stacy #29
