Welcome to the nicest blog hop in the world courtesy of Julia - What's on your workdesk Wednesday!
Here is my desk as it was first thing this morning.. you can see an empty mug of tea, a nearly finished lemsip (Yes, I have another stinking cold courtesy of Alex), my prayer journal (the red notebook), my diary/bullet journal in the brown case, and a note book where I am currently writing down potential appliances for our new kitchen. If all goes according to plan we are hoping to knock through between our very small galley kitchen and dining room and turn it into a brighter and nicer kitchen diner - we are currently at the planning phase which is fun, but daunting. I am dreading the actual process, but the end result will make a huge difference to us all.
What with work, my school of ministry course and planning the kitchen, the only crafting I have done this week has been my journal so here is the January overview
And two page layouts for the past two weeks.
I will leave you with this image I found that sums up exactly what I need to remember to do. Work is very unsettled at the moment, so I need to give it all to God and wait patiently for his way forward - not something I am very good at doing!
With love & God Bless,
Caro

Life will be hell when the kitchen is being done but it will definitely be worth it. We only had a kettle, a microwave, and a slow cooker for 3 months. Washing up was done in the bath. Do remember to do before & after pics. We'll all want to see it. xx
Unfortunately sometimes crafting has to take second place of other things, especially new kitchens that's life but still wishing you a happy crafty woyww, Angela x12x
I can thoroughly recommend Howdens for designing and supplying the kitchen - the units are great and considerably cheaper than elsewhere, but the quality is just as good. Check out appliance city online, they did us a great deal as we bought all our new appliances from them. Do you know anyone who is a Which subscriber? My mate let me have his log in details and the reviews/lowdown was extremely useful in helping me pick which machine was the best. It'll be worth it, I spend all my day in the kitchen, I love it!

What a busy journal you have! We are about to do an upgrade on our kitche which is brain taxing for us both. I am looking forward to seeing yours when you’ve knocked through.
Hi Caro, the kitchen plan sounds great. We too have a galley kitchen, but no ability to extend or enlarge. It will be an awful mess, but so worth it. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #6 X
wishing you luck with your work on the kitchen - good tips from Jan who's just been through it! hope your work calms down a bit and you get some time to craft. take care. Helen #3
Hi. Saw your question about the alcohol markers. They seem as good as any to me, nice and juicy and there is a blender in the box too which is good. I even tried them on some watercolour paper and they still blended well though obviously they are better on a nice smooth paper. I can't say how long they will last but for the price they are really good value and a great starter pack, good range of colours too. Hope that helps, Angela xXx
Loving your journal. Now you know where the time went!!
It has snowed here again, last night and on through today. No children here to enjoy it. Grandson's are now adults, off doing other things. Thinking of Alex!
Happy Wednesday!
Hope that when you start your kitchen remodel that all goes well! Your journal looks pretty cool! And love the Scripture!
Thanks for popping by and have a wonderful week!

How exciting, Caro, having a new kitchen! It will be awesome once it's done, and I am sure the time will pass quickly while you get through all the ghastly part with the mess and dust, and having to camp out for a while. I hope you will provide us with some "before, during and after" photos! There's nothing I like better than nosing around other people's kitchens (unless it's their craft rooms, of course!!). I am sorry to hear you've got a cold when you are just getting over being so poorly. I expect your resistance is a bit low and you are probably still quite run down after all that lot. I hope and pray that you will soon be feeling your old self again - try not to overdo it!! (There's the pot calling the kettle black...) Also, I pray that your work situation will settle down, too. It's difficult living with uncertainty, isn't it. Your journals are so lovely, and it must be helpful to focus your thoughts when there's a lot going on.
Thank you for your visit, and I so appreciate your regular prayers for me! I know I am in the Lord's hands over this, and your final picture was a timely reminder for me too! I am not too good at putting that one into practice either, I'm afraid. I just have to sit tight now and be patient, and hope I don't have to wait to the end of the whole waiting list before my operation is done.
I'm glad you like my new pen case. I am so pleased with it and it's going to be very useful. I grabbed it while I was watching some TV today because there was a gorgeous Edwardian design I wanted to sketch, and my pens were close at hand!! I hope you do manage to try a bit of calligraphy because it's really fun. I have always loved hand lettering and I've found lots of useful Youtube videos to help. Now I just need time to concentrate on it - crafty stuff always gets pushed to the bottom of the heap which can be a bit frustrating at times!
Thanks again so much for all your love, support and prayers! May God bless you too and I hope you are soon over your cold.
Happy WOYWW and hugs,

Ooh a new kitchen sounds exciting Caro. It will be worth all the upheaval in the end if Jan's is anything to go by. I hope you are feeling better soon (children are so generous) and that the work stuff resolves itself. Happy WOYWW. Sarah #2

Oh dear Caro, what a mess, another cold. Rest when you can, not always easy with work and home plus an active young man to care for.
Your journal looks very comprehensive so I can imagine writing that up daily is something which takes up quite a bit of your time. Still, it will be lovely to look back on in time to come.
Oh, I don't envy you the alterations at home but as you say it will be worth it in the end. Just make sure you are well enough to be in the chaos these jobs cause.
Thanks for the prayers, they are appreciated and I am feeling much better than I was although I am eagerly awaiting my chiropractors return from her holiday. I hold your husband and mother in my prayers each night and now you will have to pop back in them with your cold.
Do take care Caro
Hugs, Neet 1 xx
I'm late , I'm late for a very important date.....sorry but I've made 5 Memory bears in last two days [your two included] plus other urgent sewing jobs too and of course my customers must come first :-). I guess it's better late than never eh?
Your building plans sound really exciting....hope all goes well for you.
Hugs,

I do agree with that last sentiment. Am feeling rather unsettled myself. I wish I could let hurtful comments roll off me.
Extensions and alterations cause a big upset in the smooth running of a household, but so nice when all done. Belated happy WOYWW, Angela #22
Hope your cold is a bit better - sounds like Annie has just got another one too - nasty bugs about! Your kitchen will be fab I am sure. Yes it will be vile while its ongoing but brilliant once you can spread out and enjoy the space. xx Jo
Hi Caro. thanks for the visit. Sorry I'm behind but Bob came home. The first 4 days belong to him. Lovely bullet journal. I can't get into a BuJu but I have enough other planners to keep me out of trouble. Cya tomorrow. Creative Blessings! Kelly #19
