Birthday fun!

I have now finished work for a week and am so relieved as I was so in need of a break. Alex came back from nursery with an Easter crown and a basket of eggs having been on an Easter egg hunt!
We have had a lovely day today celebrating Alex's birthday as a family.  We had a lazy morning opening presents in bed.  His favourite presents were his new Bosch tool kit (especially the drill)
and his quarry set complete with little dump trucks etc.  Needless to say he played with them all morning.
We also got him a little cake (sadly I didn't have time to make him one) which he loved and had fun blowing out the candles.  It was very sweet when we sang happy birthday as he joined in, singing happy birthday to himself!
I have managed to do a little crafting today as well in the form of these trading cards.  I made them using distress inks and Crafty Individual and Lavinia Stamps.  The backgrounds were made with broken china, faded denim, shabby shutters and pine needles inks and then stamped over with flowers and leaves in the same colours.  The central images are also Crafting Individuals.  These trading cards fit with the themes of 'Distressing' from Simon Says Stamp, 'Vintage' for Creative Card Crew and lots to do, 'Raining Cats and Dogs' for Sophisticat (there is a dog in one of these trading cards).
Have a very Happy Easter everyone.
Love,
Caro
