WOYWW 643

Hello and welcome back to my blog for another edition of What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday!  Firstly I would like to start with an apology – I failed dismally to comment on anyone’s blog last week due to the fact that we had (and still have) a VERY unwelcome visitor in our house in the shape of a rat.  All efforts over the past week have been dedicated to trying to get rid of the beast while working full-time (20 MSc vivas and intro week activities), and planning a service for Sunday.

This is just some of the damage that our unwelcome visitor has caused. This is the sitting room door, it has also shredded the carpet at the other end and had a go at the door frame. In addition, underneath a couple of pieces of furniture it has chewed holes in the plaster and floor boards and insulation creating a nice hole for it to now run under the floorboards. We have had to box up every bit of food in the house into plastic tubs (even cleaning out our blue bin to store things in), and put poison and traps everywhere… it is all so very unpleasant.  Anyway, enough of the bad stuff!  You are here to see my desk, not hear me whinge…

So here is my desk. All neat and tidy and set up for work. I have my to do list, iPad, mouse, tea and pens in addition to my laptop.  I have a day of working from home and marking ahead of me.

I did manage to do a little crafting this week in the form of keeping my bullet journal up to date as well as my mini journal with pictures.  Just a week behind on this now so not bad!

I haven’t managed to swim quite as much as I would have liked but did escape one evening and have a stunning swim where the light over the water was incredible. The two photos are before and after a 750m swim which was stunning.  That’s all from me for now. I hope to have better news on our visitor next week, in the meantime, take care of yourselves,

With love & God Bless,
Caro

WOYWW 642

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog after a brief hiatus. It is time for another edition of What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday and my desk is a mess....

Usually I tidy it at the end of the day ready for work the next morning (I am still working from home apart from when I am teaching), but last night I went for a later swim so this morning my desk was still chaotic.  You can see my computer, my mug of tea (yes I like weak tea, Sorry Julia!), my journals, various pens and stickers and my to do list.

There is no crafting to show you at the moment as I am crazy busy both at work and at church, although I am keeping my bullet journal up to date. Instead I thought I would show you the wonderful sunset from my swim last night.

We swam until the stars came out and the moon rose.  It was truly magical. That's all from me for now... keeping it short and sweet!

Take care and stay safe everyone,

With love

Caro

WOYWW 640 (I hope!)

As you can probably guess from the title I have completely lost track of time!  The holidays have whizzed past and it is the first Wednesday of the new school term so it is time for another edition of What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday hosted by the lovely Julia.

This is my desk as it was yesterday evening in the process of making my final index card for the ICAD challenge. You can see the inks I have been using, pens, stamps and my trusty mug of tea.  It is all tidy now as I am still working from home and my desk has to become a work desk by 8am - not for too much longer though as I am starting to go into work for some days each week.

These are the final index cards made for the challenge

And this is all 61 cards laid out on my desk.... a complete mixture of methods and styles.

I was missing last week because Alex and I were in Northumberland for a final mini holiday of the summer.... warning - photo overload!

The weather was grey but dry and we had a wonderful time exploring, walking, coasteering, body boarding and swimming.

I had my first face-to-face teaching session of the new academic year yesterday and Alex has started year 10 so life will soon settle down into a more usual term-time rhythm.

Needless to say I am still swimming and hope to continue through the winter again, but we will have to see how it all fits with being back in the work building. That's all from me for now.  Take care and stay safe.

With love & God Bless,

Caro
