WOYWW 479 (I think!)

Wednesday, and time for another round of desk hopping thanks to Julia's inspired 'What's on your workdesk Wednesday' (also known as WOYWW). My desk is looking pretty tidy with only a few stamps to show that I have actually been crafting recently and the card that I made.  This card is for my brother - I always struggle to know what to put on a card but he does wear glasses (and grows a moustache once a year for Movember) so I thought this would do! You can also see my enormous mug of tea (and for those of you who wondered last time - I don't often completely finish it before it goes cold so I don't usually fill it to the brim!)
The observant among you will have spotted that I have some new mugs on my desk that I am using as storage for pens and washi tape and the theme of these mugs may give you a hint as to where I was last week!
There are also some new additions at the back of my desk in the form of Lego Harry Potter figures and a bright pink pygmy puff!
Yes, I took Alex on a much anticipated trip to the Harry Potter studio Tour - He dressed up in his costume and we both thoroughly enjoyed looking round at all the sets (warning - lots of photos coming up!)
The sorting hat put him into Gryffindor
Alex caught Cedric's name from the Goblet of Fire
Pretending we were in the Gryffindor common room
Battling against death eaters on broom stick
 In Malfoy manor
Going onto Platform 9 3/4 ready to catch the train to Hogwarts
 Standing by the train
On the train having just arrived at Hogsmead station, all excited.
A refreshing drink of Butterbeer (actually I didnt like it that much, but Alex loved it!)
In the muggle world where it all started, outside number 4 Privet Drive
On the bridge at Hogwarts
 In Diagon Alley
The scale model of Hogwarts which was stunning - needless to say I took loads more photos, but as you are really here for my desk and crafting adventures I will stop there.
Finally I will leave you with a little bit of crafting - I finished the ICAD (index card a day) challenge having made over 60 index cards in two months.  This is my desk festooned with all the cards... there is such a mixture of styles and techniques represented here. It was a fun challenge and I was impressed that I managed to keep up. Now its time for a change of pace.  Have a great week.
Love
Caro

What a lovely day you must have had Caro, those wide smiles say it all. I'm a devil for storing things in cups and mugs and paintbrushes in unused tankards, they are always so useful. Well done on your ICAD Challenge, it's so nice to see them all together.
Enjoy your day & thanks for sharing WOYWW.

How wonderful to be able to go to the Harry Potter studio - great time. Love your mugs ... and I'm with you about leaving some of the tea because it's gone cold ... although I have been known to drink it in that state - lol! Thanks for sharing. Hope you have a good day - Hazel, WOYWW #15 x

Much as I love seeing your iCads and admiring them all, and marvelling at the amount you have done, it was the HP pictures that stole the show for me.
How fabulous - what a superb day out you two had. I have a friend who is HP crazy and she loved her visit to the experience. Wow, sounds a fun place to go - I might have to borrow a child for a day.
Hugs, Neet 1 xx

Iv'e always wanted to visit HP world... but not the kind of thing I feel is right to do on my own.. you really need a kid - or at least someone else to enjoy it with! It does look amazing though. I am afraid I am not observant so hadn't noticed the new mugs, but I do like them!! Helen #2

Oh Wow! that looks brilliant. I'm a real lover of Harry Potter. You're not the only one who has problems knowing what to put on male cards, I always get stuck with them but we get there in the end. You mentioned in your comment to me about the Sheffield Rocks. We had a day out at Skegness the other week and I found one in the hotel we use. I took a photo of it which is here: https://angelacuttingandcarving.blogspot.com/2018/07/friday-fun-day-with-smiles_27.html
Have a great woyww and happy crafting, Angela x12x

First, congratulations for 60 i-Cads! And your trip to Harry Potter-Land looks awesome. My daughter (32 years old!) is a huge Harry Potter fan - she would love this! I almost gave her a Harry Potter birthday party this year, and when I changed it to a Tapas party I think she was a little disappointed (oh well, maybe next year!) You two looked like you had loads of fun! Thank you for your visit, the Falls probably hasn't changed a whole lot in 18 years, just new buildings and Casinos! The area surrounding the Falls is covered in wineries, however, and they are lots of fun to visit! Have a great week! Lindart #25

I'm another one who's not into Harry Potter, but it looks as if you had a fun day out together. I love the mugs on your desk, and the card is great - a very good "man" card! Thank you for your visit. Glad you enjoyed seeing all my cooking today! My hubby loved his healthy brown rice veggie bowl for supper with the "Yummy Sauce"! Definitely one to do again. Yes, Ruby had me worried yesterday - I thought she'd developed the ability to walk through walls!

Happy WOYWW,

Lovely photos. I'd have enjoyed seeing more. I'd love to visit Diagon Alley. There is a guy in Seattle that does his driveway up in Diagon Alley every year. Congrats on completing the ICAD! What a lovely collection. Maybe I can jump in next year. Creative Blessings! Kelly #18
