WOYWW 511

Well here we are again for the weekly nose around the crafting desks of the world courtesy of Julia.  You can join in the fun at her blog.
Here is my offering for this week - finally some crafting underway.  I had about 20 minutes to play in my art journal yesterday so I pulled out a random selection of supplies and played!  Boy was it fun and therapeutic. You can see brushos, distress paints, posca pens, actylic paints and the journal.  This was taken part way through the page.
Here is the finished article - it was a quick one taking less than 20 minutes so I couldn't over analyse or plan too much (that's what tends to stop me being creative).

This is the close up of the image (from Crafty Individuals) and the sentiment sticker from Illustrated Faith.
Last weekend Alex went to a scouts tournament in all that rain and wind - he was tired and filthy at the end of it, but very happy because...
his team came joint first for the Hallam Trophy after completing 10 different tasks.  That's all from me for now. Have a great week everyone.
With love & God Bless
Caro

Love the journal page, very free and expressive - sometimes it's nice not to have the time to think too much about what we are doing, but just do it! Well done to your boy on getting the trophy, it must have been worth all that wet weather!
Have a great week,

I think only allowing yourself twenty minutes to play in your journal sounds like a good idea. I might give it a go as I tend to spend far much time thinking about what to do and then think I'll come back later which just never works. Wishing you a lovely week and a happy woyww, Angela x11x

Hi Caro,
I like how the speckles mix in with the paints from using those powders. ( I always hesitate with mine since I end up with it everywhere) ~Stacy #27

Well done Alex and the rest of his team on working so well together. They certainly all look as if they enjoyed themselves, even with all the mud an drain lol. Love the journal page Caro. Sometimes the most creative things happen when you don't have much time to stop and think things out. Happy WOYWW. Sarah #4

I just LOVE your journal page - those 'quick and loose' pages are usually the most beautiful aren't they? I hope you have better weather so your son (and you) don't get that wet anymore... Thanks for stopping by my blog yesterday, enjoy the rest of the week and your weekend. Hug from Holland, Marit #20

Hi Caro, great job on the journal page. I keep saying I'm going to do some art journaling, but I think exactly what you said is the problem, I get into overthinking, then don't start! Well done to your son. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #10 X

Good morning, Caro!
Congrats to your boy. Looks as if they had a grand time. They love that wet/ mud/ ick lol probably helped them win. hehe Lovely journal page. Love the simplicity. Have you done the Journaling By 5s Challenge? I think I'm going to do that again this summer. Maybe with the girls in their journals. Creative Blessings! Kelly #26

Hi Carol. Congratulations to Alex and his team!! Way to go.

Sometimes the crafty play that is restricted in time is the best . You don't have time to second guess what you are doing.

Thanks for visiting me already!

Happy WOYWW

I think if we can just take a moment each day & create in this way without any thought process it can set us up for our day to day challenges perfectly. Beautiful piece Caro.
Well done to Alex & his team.
Wishing you a blessed weekend & Thank you for sharing WoywW Tracey
P.S Have a blessed weekend xx

I can see the joy and energy in that page, Caro! I haven't felt that way in a while - which makes me think I should do a play page too! Happy, muddy children - the one on the left doesn't look so sure though LOL. They must be very pleased that they won! Thanks for your visit! Enjoy your weekend! zsuzsa #22
