WOYWW523

Where has this week gone? It is time for another round of desk hopping and sharing the creative on-line love. Don't know what I am talking about?  Then head on over to Julia's blog and she will explain all.
My desk is relatively tidy -  just my trusty mug of tea (time for a top up) and my art journal.  I am not sure if I like the start of this page or not!  It is at that leave it and think about it stage...  In the background you can just about make out 4 WOYWW badges - these are spare so if anyone wants one please do email me (carostaton (at) gmail (dot) com) and I will post them out on a first come, first serve basis.
I had two more ATCs arrive this week from Kelly (left) and Sylvia (right), both lovely and very different to each other. The card at the top is from Kelly.

I also had two lovely memory bears made out of Dad's summer shirts from the lovely Annie - Alex has claimed his and mine is sat on my shelves. This time of year is especially hard - I doubt whether I will cope with the Father's Day service on Sunday.
At the moment my creative outlet is in decorating index cards as part of the ICAD (index card a day) challenge and here are mine from the last week or so. A complete random mixture of styles and fun.
Finally a brief update on Gran - she is much improved medically as they have sorted out her fluid and sodium levels and she is off the morphone, and she is starting physiotherapy.  However, I am not sure that she is mentally or emotionally up for the long hard struggle it will be to get back on her feet. Only time will tell - prayers for willingness to participate fully in physio would be gratefully received - at the moment she only does it when Mum is there bullying her into it!
Have a great week everyone,
With love & God Bless,
Caro

You received some beautiful ATCs this week, Caro. I read you had purchased memory bears. They are really cute, too.

I LOVE your ICADs. They are incredible, and all so very different. MUCH better than mine. You put a lot more into yours than I do in mine, I suspect. I only devote about an hour a day to mine. Happy WOYWW from # 8.

I like your journal page, for what it's worth, the gorgeous in-your-face pink is wonderful! Lovely to see some more ATCs, I always wonder at how different they can be. Sending hugs for Father's Day, I wish mine was here again so I could tell him how much he was loved.

So glad your bears arrived safely....really hope they help through the difficult times. Hope your Nan continues to improve...the older we get the harder it is to make the effort so give her a hug from me.

Hi Caro, love the Atc's. Your bears are adorable, I'm sure it's all the love Annie sews into them!
Really like the ICADS, so colourful and diverse.
I do hope things continue to improve for your Gran, physio is really hard work, but the physios themselves will push her as much as they think she can cope with. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #10 X

Your journal background looks wonderful - I know what you mean about the "leave it and think about it" stage - so many possibilities to go forward and that's sometimes a bit crippling - almost as bad as staring at a blank page! Super ATCs from Kelly and Sylvia - I notice mine's stuck on your lamp! :) You know, I think I have the exact same lamp! Annie has made some lovely memory bears remembering your dad - so touching that your son has one too! Hope your gran realises that in order to get better she needs to get on with her physio. It must be hard for the family to make her do things she doesn't want to do. I've put your WOYWW badge on my bag so I take it with me everywhere I go! So far, no one has asked what it stands for! Have a lovely week! zsuzsa #20

Oh dear, if I was closer I would come and bully gran into her physio and do it with her myself as encouragement. Will change my prayers for her.
So many times I leave a page because I know it wants something but the something never comes to mind so I leave it. Only too often though I have to add to it in a rush and a favourite of mine is to swipe a gentle mix of watered down Gesso or Titan Buff over to 'take it down'. Then a bit of stencilling and I am happy. Sometimes we are our own worse critics.
I will think of you at the Father's Day service - you will gain some inner strength from him I am sure.
Take care, blessings, Neet 1 xx

I always close the page on unfavourable journal pages, they look a lot different when I reopen them. Lovely desk shots & your Memory Bears are fabulous treasures. Here's hoping Grans recovery is easier on her & sending Hugs your way this Sunday. Happy WoywW Tracey #3

Hi Caro, your ICADs look great, nice to have them so varied. Wow Annie was quick with the memory bears. Big hugs to you for Sunday. 16 years on and I still miss my dad every day, but it's not as painful now as it was in the early days. Time is most definitely a great healer. Glad to hear your gran is improving, I will keep her and her physiotherapy in my prayers. Have a lovely week Heather xx #12

Hi Caro, Fab journal page and I love the index cards.

Lovely ATCs.

Those bears are fab. What a lovely way to remember your dad. My mum passed 2013 and dad 2014. Still hard on certain dates.

Glad your gran is doing a little better. Hope she can find the strength to get through what she has to do.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Those memory bears are so lovely and precious to have... I can imagine some days will be especially difficult.Whenever I read something like that, I think 'those days will come for me too, maybe soon' - my parents both live and are relativaly healthy (some 'old age-things' but nothing serious) but the worries you have when they/you grow older are hard sometimes... I hope your grandma will improve, sending love her way. Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier, happy ~ belated ~ woyww. Big hug from Holland. Marit #21

Hi Caro, I'm ready for a top-up in my cup too. Nice tidy desk. Annie's memory bears are treasures. Being an orphan, albeit an elderly one, I find both Mother's day and Father's day difficult to cope with so I do my best to ignore them. Not that my children don't forget me. I love the display of ATCs - they are all fabulous. Hope your gran finds the strength needed to help with her recovery and that she's soon up on her feet again. Have a great week. Elizabeth x #26

Hi, Caro! I bet you like that journal page today....or have thought of another tweak to make it into something you love. It always seems to “come around “ after rolling around in my brain for a day or two. If there is still a spare badge, I would love one. Let me know the postage. Have a wonderful week.

I'm glad your gran is feeling better, and I do hope she see the benefits to physio. The bears are very cute, I wish I had known Annie when my Dad passed, but alas, we don't have anything of his left (or do we? I will have to look...) Thanks for your earlier visit, have a great week! Lindart #30

Gorgeous artwork all round, Caro. I love your index cards, and the memory bears are so touching... I think it's a brilliant idea. Thank you for your visit and above all for your prayers, which mean so much to me! I am continuing to trust in the Lord and trying not to worry whenever I think about the outcome of my application. It's not an easy time and I shall be glad when it's over. At least I've got the new wheelchair to look forward to! I'm glad you enjoyed the kitty photos. They had a major spat this a.m. and the fur literally flew - I haven't a clue what that was all about, but after a sleep, they were fine again!

I'm glad your gran is making progress in the right direction but it's a shame about the physio. Praying for willingness! She's probably feeling tired and physio is quite an effort! It only works if you want it to, doesn't it.

Happy belated WOYWW and God bless,

Love your bears dear Caro, if things were happier with dad’s wife I’d do the same but am sure there are to left and if they were I wouldn’t be allowed them. I’ve His paintings though so that’s a blessing indeed and I know I’ll see him in heaven, our Father’s Day is in Sept. it’s his second one but as I was over in Uk for first one soon after he passed it didn’t count for me, think they’re always hard, but does get easier after a decade or so as mum has been gone since 2001.
Praying for dear Gran, I can really understand it is hard. Having sodium out of whack can really affect you though.

Thanks so much for my badge and bookmark, my badge when straight on little monkey and big monkey had one, he was very glad to have one too, very grown up now esp as his says 10!!
Sorry am so late... Happy VERY belated WOYWW. Thanks for sharing, Shaz in Oz.x #22
