WOYWW 545

Another week, another Wednesday and time for another desk hop courtesy of What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday and Julia.
This is my desk, looking rather empty as this week I am helping my ADHD son try and learn how to revise for tests - trying to get him to concentrate is hard enough, no chance of getting him to sit still and do it!  Needless to say it is stretching both our patience.
On my desk you may have seen this - it is a paperweight that was designed by my Gran - she spent a lot of my childhood making bobbin lace including my Christening gown and wedding veil, and this is another of her pieces that will now live on my desk with pride.
I did do a little crafting on Sunday as part of rememberance day - the layout used neocolour water colour crayons, acrylics and Lavinia stamps.
That is all from me for now. I hope you all have a lovely week,
With love & God Bless,
Caro

I love that journal layout - now where did i see it earlier?
Lovely paperweight fro your gran - so many lovely memories each time you look at it and I guess it is so tactile you often hold it in your hands and think of her.
Sorry to hear your patience is being taxed - the joys of being a mum.
Hugs, Neet 10 xx

A beautiful piece to have on your desk Caro, as a lover of lace, I admire the time and detail with this masterpiece. Your creative Gran will be by your side always as you craft along now. Fabulous reflective journal spread.

P.S I hope you will both find that happy balance and the key to successful revision very very soon xx

Good luck with the revision! The joys of parenthood eh? I like the Remembrance piece very much, I don't think I've seen a Lavinia stamp that I haven't liked, they're fantastic. The little parcel to you went off yesterday, so hopefully it won't take too long getting to you!

Morning Caro. Goodness - I actually thought I had come to the wrong desk this morning - not that yours is ever as untidy as mine, but there is usually your teamug, journal, Bible and study books if nothing else.
I wish you well with the revision help - the schools seem to be so determined that young folk have revision timetables etc. these days - I'm sure I just got on with it myself... was an incredibly long time ago, though!
That bobbin lace work is beautiful - a lovely reminder of your gran.
Take care. God bless.

What a little treasure that lace / paperweight is. Our Gran was a wonderful needlewoman and lived to be 100 but sadly we don't have any of her beautiful work - just some wonderful memories of a lovely lady. Snowmen went in the post today! xx Jo

What a lovely paperweight! It can become a wonderful keepsake and should be passed down through the generations. I know you are so happy to have that in your possession!

Good luck with the revision with your boy....fingers crossed. Lovely to see your Gran's lace making....I used to do a lot of bobbin lace but alas I have neither the time nor patience for it now.

Has your son been introduced to Mind Mapping? Our son found it invaluable. He has ADHD & Asperger's and has just started a PhD! When he was at Primary school I didn't think he'd even be able to get decent O Levels. He wants to be a Lecturer. His communication skills have come on in leaps and bounds (although he still comes out with things that remind you that he doesn't have the same 'filters' as others!)

Such a lovely layout for Rememberance Day - very moving. I love the lace made by your Gran, what a wonderful and very special keepsake - it took me back a lot of years to when I made lace - I miss it now, especially when I see such pretty pieces like your Grans, but my eyes got older and my hands got creakier so I gave it up!
Good luck with the revision, it sounds like a challenging task!
