WOYWW567

Well another week of lockdown later and here we are again, sharing our desks via the wonderful Julia as part of the nicest and one of the longest running blog hops in the world.
This is my desk on Tuesday evening - lots of pens, a few stamps and an ink pad, a mug of tea and my journal as I have a little bit of 'me' time while Alex is on his screen.
I have done a little crafting this week.  I did another painting in the style of the previous one, this time for Good Friday - there is actually a figure on the cross although it is a little hard to see.
And I made some bright coloured cards for delivering to members of my church family who are struggling at this time.  It was good exercise for Alex and me to deliver them by bike as one of our daily trips out.
I have been blessed with six days off work this Easter weekend so Alex and I have made the most of it with gardening, playing daft games, crafting
walks round our local area (much complaining from Alex!) and cycle rides, including to the reservoirs (much complaining about my thighs from me - those hills are steep!).

We have enjoyed the signs of spring everywhere including the lambs, daffodils and blossoms.

Easter was strange this year but we celebrated as best we could by joining in with an on-line communion service from our church, making a cross and then tying prayer ribbons to it, and an Easter egg hunt.

We are still joining in with the Taskmaster hometasking challenges so I thought I would share this video - the challenge was to turn a bed into something that was not a bed.  This was Alex's idea!
I will leave you with my favourite quote from Aslan in CS Lewis' Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Have courage everyone.
Take care and stay safe everyone,
With love & God Bless,
Caro

The picture with the quote is beautiful - thank you for sharing - it made me take a moment for myself.
What lovely photos you are sharing with us today, thy portray Easter so well and I just love the one of you in the garden peeking out from the greenery.
I did enjoy the video of Alex in his boat complete with sound. I think when I saw it previously it was a series of photographs - have I got that right?
I am enjoying your paintings, so please do some more when you have time and I did see the figure the first time I saw it.
Take care, stay safe, well and happy (just as you are)
God Bless, Neet 2 xx

What a lovely post, Caro. It looks as if you and Alex are making the most of the lockdown and using your time most productively! The cards for the Church members are so bright and cheerful and will carry such love and encouragement, I know, and I love your Good Friday painting. The video made me laugh - I love the bed canoe, and then the brilliant bonus of the leaping shark!! What fun. The spring is so lovely, isn’t it - my absolute favourite time of year. I am enjoying it largely vicariously this year but at least we’ve had our daffodils and the primrose bank in the garden continues to look gorgeous - the violets are spreading all the way along year by year, which is so lovely. My hubby gets out and about and walks in our local woods, and takes photos for me to see. The quote and beautiful photo at the end of your post brought a tear to my eye - one of my favourites, too. I think The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is probably my favourite Narnia book.

Stay safe and well, all of you, and God bless.

You have been so productive in your days off and still managed to find the time to journal. Lovely thought to make and deliver cards to those you know are missing contact. Love the bed that is not a bed floating by my screen .... Well done Alex.

It's so lovely to see what you've been up to over the past few days, the glorious weather has really helped us all I think. Lovely signs of Spring - I went on a walk yesterday and just had to stop on a wooded path as you couldn't hear any traffic, only birdsong, the fresh green leaves were budding, it was a moment to savour.

Your post reminds me of a saying....'Take time to smell the roses'.I think we are all enjoying Spring more this year simply because we have more time to stop, look and listen. The dawn chorus seems louder, the Spring flowers seem to be putting on just the best show this year and nature is carrying on regardless of the other madness going on.
We are blessed.

That's such an uplifting post Caro - thanks for sharing it all. We need to appreciate the simplest things in life don't we. Just to open our eyes and look at all the good things around us helps lift our mood doesn't it. Stay safe. xx Jo

Beautiful photographs, spring always makes you smile. I don't ride a bike but I can imagine it must be hard work on the legs but good for toning them up I think. Take care and have a crafty woyww, Angela x17x

Oh, I laughed at Alex's video! At least the shark is well fed! Glad you are enjoying your time with Alex, and getting out to enjoy the weather. Still quite cold here in Ontario, it was 0°C this morning. Stay safe, stay well, stay busy! Lindart #28

Beautiful photographs, love the idea of ribbons on the cross. C S Lewis is a particular favourite of mine. I first met him though the Narnia books, I can’t tell how many time I have read them. As a child I loved them and as an adult I appreciate them more. I tried a couple of his other novels, but didn’t get on with those. His Screwtape letters are amazing and The Letters from Jack. I get a daily post from Bible Gateway.

Your cards are lovely and bright, great way to cheer someone up. Take care x Angela#24

Your quote is perfect for this season!
We had communion at church on Easter but it was out on the patio and a maximum of 2 couples at a time but with the distancing.
Love your painting and cards! I sent some out to gals on a private FB group.
My outside stuff is mostly gardening and raking rocks out of the yard to make mowing easier. Beautiful blossoms!
Have a wonderful week!

Times are definitely different, but I feel like I haven’t been this connected to my friends and family as we are now. Lots of FaceTime, Zoom gatherings etc., where before we were just giving a thumbs up on posts. There are some good things about it. Have a wonderful week. Dorlene #32

Thanks Caro, that's really kind of you. We're hoping things have calmed down now, mum seemed a bit more positive today. I have to say it was interesting going into Sheffield. We do take mum to Meadowhall for her days out though obviously not at the moment but it's ages since we went any further. We ended up at the Wicker Arches which I'm sure you will know. Years ago my father used to work at Tinsley Wire Industries which obviously has long gone. Due to all the industry around there the Wicker Arches were black until they decided to clean it in the 1970s and all the carving and details suddenly came to life. I have to say that although work has forced us to live in other counties I am still a Yorkshire lass at heart. You take care and thanks again, Angela xXx
