So here is my desk on this anniversary day...Sadly all set up for work as I am marking all day today - final year undergraduate exams.
This is how my desk was on Monday evening - in the midst of creating some pocket pages - a complete mess. The one constant between the two is a large mug of tea! On this you can also see the pages I am working on, various cards, embellishments, stickers, additional photos, and my ipad sticking up at the back.
Now, onto the challenge that we were set for this anniversary. This was to complete an unfinished object or UFO. Now, I don't really have many of these as I tend to have a variety of long standing works in progress (art journals, bible journaling, weekly journal etc) and the one I thought I hadn't finished from years ago, it turned out I had completed! However, a few weeks ago Alex decided that he wanted me to teach him how to finger knit a beanie hat and in order to do that I had to make one alongside him. Once he realised how fiddly it was he gave up on the idea and my blue wool sat abandoned with a small amount of knitting on it. So this was the UFO project I decided to complete.
Anyone who knows me will know that thread, wool etc is NOT my forte, but I persevered and while watching 'Cats' and other television shows I completed this little beanie hat.
It could probably have done with another layer of knitting on the bottom but for a first attempt I am quite pleased with it - although I am not sure it suits me!
My other UFO is still a WIP - it is my pocket page scrapbook. I was given the things to do this about 2 years ago, and printed all the photos out at Christmas but have done so little on it. So this past week I have spent some time moving the project forward.
These are the pages I have completed this week so have definitely moved the project onward! It is more complicated than I imagined as most of the photos are of the wrong orientation making it difficult to put pages together in chronological order etc. It is partly what stopped me doing it for so long, but I am determined to complete 2019 photos in the end.
I will finish this rather long post with a few photos of our recent walks in our neighbourhood, including some goslings (can you spot them!), and a reasonably close encounter with a heron!
Happy Anniversary everyone, Stay safe and take care,
With love and God Bless

Hi Caro. I've never tried finger knitting so may have to investigate that. Well done you for completing your hat.
Thanks for your love and friendship over the last 11 years.
Hugs,

Well done completing the beanie hat, Caro! I think that’s tremendously clever, making something with just your fingers and a ball of yarn. You could call that minimalist crafting! Love the walks photo - I’m a sucker for a bluebell wood and the little goslings are adorable!
Happy 11th anniversary WOYWW and God bless,

The colour of that Beanie is gorgeous Caro. Your scrapbook is certainly coming on as well. Happy anniversary. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #15.
Morning Caro. Sounds to me like you have achieved loads this past couple of weeks! Well done. You have an incredibly busy life - oh the beauty of being young!!! Love the photos - when were you up my way? I do wish I had known - would have invited you for a panad. Well done on finishing the finger knitting - I confess I have never even heard of it!
Take care. Stay safe. God bless.

Happy anniversary Caro and how lovely to see all your projects and I am amazed at how much you have achieved in a week. The beanie if so cute and well done for persevering with the album. Stay safe and keep creating.

Brilliant beanie hat Caro - well done you for mastering the art - I've never tried it. I love your photos, the bluebells are really stunning and lovely pic of Alex too. Happy bloggiversary! xx Jo
Well done on making the beanie hat without knitting needles - I've never heard of finger knitting before but the effect looks fairly similar to ordinary knitting - it's a cute little hat. I love the pocket page scrapbook - keeping up with photos is hard I find since going digital all those years ago - my albums have fizzled out!
Lovely photos of your walk, and beautiful bluebells - they have a heavenly scent don't they.
Have a great week and Happy WOYWW Anniversary,
Diana xx #28
sorry you have to work today. love your scrapbook . The beanie is fab although a bit warm for it here today x. Have a great week and stay safe xxx Soojay #27
I must say I find the beanie hat is looking good and yeah it actually fits you ;) Funny to knit with fingers, I never thought of that.
The photo book seems to be like a never ending story. Must be superb at the end for sure!!!
Thank you so much for sharing!
Happy WOYWW Anniversary

Happy 11th Bloggyversary Caro! I'm so glad you came back to rejoin WOYWW and it was especially wonderful to meet you in person at the Crop last year. Well done on the beanie, I've never finger knitted and yours looks very neat! Thanks for all the friendship and support, hope you and the family are well and keeping safe.

Happy anniversary to you too, Caro. I have never tried finger knitting but seeing your hat has made me want to have a go. My daughter is a college lecturer and is about to be avalnched by final assessments by Friday. Keep safe. Catriona
Hi Caro, love the 11 years background, would you be happy if I used the image to make a badge for my sidebar? You certainly made huge progress with your Project Life(?) , so many happy photos there. Great job on the beanie, I think you did great. I just can't wear them, nor baseball caps, they just don't suit my face shape, but I'm fine with military style caps, they have a more square shaping to them.Love seeing your pics on FB. Stay safe, have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #12 X
Happy 11th WoywW Anniversary Caro you did a grand job with that hat, i'm rubbish when it comes to knitting/crochet i'll think of anything to do with wool rather than knit haa haa looks great to me and a super colour.
U understand about the album and photo sizes, you'd think with all the crafty tools around there would be something we could create our own size pockets for these sorts of albums... Looks fabulous from where I sit, lovely piece of memorabilia to enjoy for a life time.
Take good care & stay safe, i'm so glad our paths crossed @ the stamping ground Hugs Tracey #10 xx
I hope your marking went well and you've finished now! I was able to stop work early today (they closed the office due to the heat so I stopped too, though not as early as they did; and just went to M&S for some food, where it was remarkably civilised) and am now visiting desks before cooking dinner (not that I've had lunch yet... seemed to have missed it today!) Love the 11 year badge you made, how cool is that. Thanks for your friendship over the years. Helen #2
Happy 11th Anniversary, Caro. I've never heard of finger knitting, much less knowing how to do it. However, you certainly finished the project nicely. You also made great progress on that Project Life scrapbook. Some say it's easier because you have components and don't have to create the pages, but it sounds to me like it was more tedious than exciting and fun. So glad you got so many pages and pages finished. Lovely photos and I finally saw the goslings, too. Happy WOYWW from # 6.
HI Caro, I cannot even imaging knitting with your fingers ( I would have have tied it all in knots on mine) so, that is very cool to me that you created a whole hat out of it :) Happy Anniversary, ~Stacy #38
Hi Caro, it's ben amazing this anniversary project has had on everybody and the number of UFOs that have been completed. Loving your scrapbook, it's so easy to start these and then life gets in the way and they end up unfinished but now you're up to date which is great. Thanks for all your kind words and wishing you a very happy woyww 11th Anniversary. Big hugs, Angela x17x
Happy 11th WOYWW anniversary Caro, I've never seen finger knitting actually achieve anything wearable, so well done, the hat looks a bit small, as you say, but it is still a completed project.
Sorting those pictures is not going to be a quick job, but all the memories as you work your way through are going to be very special.
Bless you for sharing

Hello, Caro, busy lady!
Thank you for sharing. Your journals have been amazing and weekly country photos, so inspiring! Now this pocket page journal, what a keepsake!
Where do you get all of the energy?
Continue to take care of yourself and family!
Stay well and happy Wednesday!

Well I think the beanie is a great result Caro, perfect for under hoods in the wet and cold! Bet Alex will be fighting you for it! I have a lot of sympathy for giving up when it gets fiddly, so huge well done to you! For sure! and the pocket pages! Moved them forward? I should say so! The orientation thing drives me mad, and I can make six regular Layouts in the time it takes me to do a pocket page, but don’t they look great and accommodate so much when done! Fabulous job. Am beginning to think that for each Anniversary we need to challenge ourselves this way! You are a trouper to join in when you’re so busy in every other aspect of your desk life. I look forward to making you a big cup of tea when we can next get together, I really do!
The hat does suit you Caro, I love it! Made me think "Agneta/Abba in the sevenies" when Abba won the Eurovision song contest ("Waterloo") - I think she wore a blue suit and a hat like that! (Wait, I'll go look for a picture... YES: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UUhIRARXwoA I may be old, knowing I have seen this, but I'm not too old that I forgot, my memory still works *ha*) I love the pocket-scrapbook but it looks difficult to me, getting all the photos and 'thingies' in the right size so they fit and make a nice composition - quite a challenge! Happy anniversary dear one, stay safe. Big hug from Holland. Marit #32
Never heard of finger knitting - I am going to have to look that up, I do like the effect and would never have thought that had been made any other way than "normal" knitting, if "normal" is the correct word to use. I would think the progress you made with the photographs is enough to qualify you for the ufo being done anyway (meaning without the hat, which I do like) it is something that is ongoing therefore never finished as such but finished each time you have done a page. I am trying to make you feel you have done lots because i am always in awe of what you cram into each and every day Caro. I think you are a marvel!
Love, Hugs and Blessings, Neet 5 xx
Happy belated 11th WOYWW, Caro, isn't IT amazing!? 😊 and so grateful to have your friendship through it!
Loving the beanie, you always could add an extra row.. but prob wiukd end up turning it up. I think beanies are for when its so cold you don'tcare what you look like! Well done on photo album and agree re wrung orientated images!
Thanks for sharing, and may God bless and keep you and all whom you love safe and well.

not heard of finger knitting, looks complicated. I struggle enough with ordinary knitting so I think you are very brave . . . and I like the hat.
Happy Anniversary
Stay safe and take care

You pages are lovely and so many nice pictures, I have started to sort pictures out of my late hubby as want to do a memory album, Great pictures of your walks,
Take care and stay safe and well,

Hi Caro, Happy Anniversary and well done on both your scrapbook pages and your beanie. Finger knitting is not something I have tried or fancy trying :). Love the walk photographs x Angela #44
Thank you for your visit, Caro, and I'm glad you enjoyed all my UFOs and my pantry labelling! I'll have a few more to do when I get more jars. I made templates on the computer so it's a doddle to make more, print them out and fussy cut them. I've spent the whole afternoon today, in the kitchen, and it's been lovely to lay my hands on everything I needed in the pantry for my cooking session. It hasn't been so tidy since I first had it built!
Hugs and God bless,

Hello Caro. Thanks for popping by. A rather belated Happy 11th WOYWW Anniversary. Anne x
Hope all the exam marking went well. And what a project you had going Monday evening! Your pages look great. Love your finger knit hat. I haven't seen that style of knitting in a long time.
I'm trying to finish getting around, too, as I came down with a hum-dinger headache late morning yesterday but it's gone now.
Thanks for popping by and I hope you had a nice 11th anniversary!

That's a super way to display your photos, many of which I recognise from Facebook. That's quite a transformation between your "work" desk and your actual work desk LOL. I know which one I prefer - the messy one, of course! Thanks so much for stopping by - happy anniversary, Caro - sorry I couldn't make it earlier! xx zsuzsa #30
Hello Caro!! I am slowly making my way around to visit desks between time getting my vegetable beds amending and planting. Your desk looks like mine when I am scrapping and creating anything for that matter! I envy the tidy creators a bit but I love my creative chaos! I just want to dive into all those bits and pieces on your desk. I just decided about a month ago to return to scrapbooking after many years break. I have so many fantastic vacations and holiday gatherings I would love to capture. I just fell off the scrapping bug and somehow this pandemic has shifted my perspective a bit. Your photos are inspiring me even more to get back to it.
I love the hat you made. The color is so pretty. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend!

Lovely hat, never finger knitted myself! I do agree I could have been a tad bigger but well done on finishing it anyways. Loving the pocket scrapbook, I can quite understand your frustrations with the pocket orientations so well done you to get so many pages finished.
Thanks for the visit and sorry late in replying but life you know.... BJ#13
Hi Caro! You just reminded me of my biggest UFO - my own pocket page scrapbook! Started with good intentions last January 2019, I got to February...you have done a fantastic job on yours! I agree, trying to get the orientations right is the tricky part. It would be easier I think if I printed the photos myself, then I could just edit the photo to fit the pocket. Not sure if that would be more expensive though!
Lovely walk photos, you have such beautiful scenery! Happy Anniversary, glad to be your WOYWW friend! Lindart #40
