WOYWW 576

Where did this last week go?  I am sorry that I didnt manage to visit everyone last week, and that I am running very late today - life has just been manic.
Here is my desk from Tuesday evening as my entry to What's on your Workdesk Wednesday.  It is fairly tidy as I had finished work for the day and was about to head out for a walk (in the most mahoosive thunderstorm!). You can see a pendant I had just finished making, some silver wire, tweezers, scissors, superglue, and my trusty mug of tea.
This is the final pendant - it was made from some river glass that I found at the weekend - probably glass as old as 1890-1910. I need some nicer quality and slightly thicker silver wire to be more adventurous with these, but not a bad first attempt!
Here are my index cards for this week as part of the ICAD (index card a day) challenge - a completely random mix.
As ever Alex and I have been getting out and about for walks and swimming, so here is a photo of the beautiful poppy field I discovered at the weekend. This was taken in heavy mist and you can see all the water droplets.
And pictures of Alex (Yes he does need a hair cut!)
and I messing around in the water in one of our local parks - it was wonderful (so much warmer than the river!) and so therapeutic.
I hope that you are all staying well and I will try and visit tomorrow - I'm off out for a socially distanced walk tonight and can't wait!
With Love and God Bless,
Caro

I don't suppose Alex minds his hair too much. Our youngest went through a long hair period. Of course now he is desperate to get it properly cut lol. Loving the ICADS and the pendant Caro. The setting shows off the glass really well. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #8

Yes, life is manic isn't it? I seem to be busier during lockdown than before but in a less structured way. I've got a project on the go that I can't talk about much at the moment but I have some cramming to do as it MUST be completed by next Wednesday! I also need to start painting the partition between the hall and the porch. Kevin has sanded it all down for me today. It's the one thing at the beginning of lockdown that I said I was going to do - it's only taken me 3 months to get around to it!! x

Hi Caro. Well done on the pendant - definitely yes! Do some more jewellery. That poppy field is amazing - the droplets of water are so clear - makes me shiver! Swimming there sounds so much more pleasant than in the cold river - which won't have warmed up much from winter temperatures yet.
Don't you just hate the phrase "social distancing" - as if it were something pleasant... It seems so dehumanizing - not kingdom living at all. Oh well, moan over!
Take care. Stay safe. God bless.

A beautiful pendant, and so lovely that you actually found the glass for it. I am loving the Icads and still haven't found the time to make any, although seeing yours has enthused me again!
Have a great week,

I hope you didn't get too wet! I popped along to the Waitrose Local at lunchtime (one benefit of being back at work, a shop that doesn't have long queues) and as I came out the heavens opened... I sheltered for a couple of moments but made a dash for it - wisely as it went on for some considerable time! I really do love the poppies . Helen #2

Hi Caro! If Alex is like my boys, he doesn't mind the length. It's a battle to get my boys to cut their hair. I love that picture of poppies with the water droplets. I have a poppy growing in a pot and it does not look as glorious as those in nature. Walks and swimming sound great. I have started walking with my husband in the morning but will have to get my boys out too. I am too afraid to go swimming yet. Not to mention the water will still be cold so no rush to that activity just yet. Your beach glass pendant is lovely. I would love to go to the beach to collect some and some rocks. Stay well.

Hi, Caro!
It's late for you, I know, but only 1:30 in the afternoon for me.

You pendant is lovely! I see a cross.

And the poppies! I have a rubber stamp of poppies. I will use your picture as a guide.

Glad you get out on the week ends. You seem to be burning the candle from both ends..

Take Care

Even though I am retired I don't have enough hours in the day. So goodness knows how you cope with all you have to do.
Sorry I am so late, had a bad day yesterday and today is not much better as yet. But did have two and a bit days of no pain before, hence the crafting.
Lovely to see your iCAD's, so bright and all so different. Afraid my backgrounds have been more or less the same throughout. Must do something different.
Lovely to see the pendant, and even better that you found the glass yourself.
Blessings, Neet 6 xx

Hi Caro, look forward to seeing your pics on FB! That pendant is fab, how amazing a piece of glass can survive that long! The ICADS are a lovely mix of colours and ideas. Isn't that poppy field magnificent to see, a rarity these days. Stay safe, have a good week, Hugs, Shaz #16 X

What a beautiful field of poppies!!?? And I adore the pendant. I collect sea glass (when we can get out and about) but mine is stacked up in a glass vase to catch the light. My husband cut my sons hair as it was irritating everyone - it didn't go well.. Best wishes, Lisa-Jane #23

Hi Caro, a lady of many talents. Great pendant. The poppy field is amazing, very worthy of a few photos. More great ICADs - if you make some with the birds, I'll look forward to seeing them. Have a lovely week and stay safe and well, Heather xx #13

I’m late again, sorry! Hope you enjoyed your SD Walk, nice to be able to catch up with others now, however carefully, isn’t it. No end to your skills, huh - great pendant, such a nice way to use the rive glass, after all, it was something useful at some point, so to become decorative is a really good finish!

That glass pendant is just lovely, I like old glass (and shells, and stones/pebbles) and keep on taking them home when I find some - my beloved always sighs (but smiles!) when he sees me do that. I also love the index cards, especially the one with the silver stars, beautiful! Thanks for stopping by my blog last week, I'm rather late with visiting you back - it's Saturday already! Time flies... enjoy your weekend, hug from Holland, Marit #24

A lovely pendant, Caro - definitely make some more jewellery! - and your cards are great, as usual. A field of poppies has to be one of my favourite things, along with a bluebell wood! Great photos of you and Alex out and about enjoying yourselves, too. Thank you for your visit and I'm sorry to be so long visiting yours. My life seems to have been somewhat manic, too, but in a different way!

Happy belated WOYWW and God bless,
