WOYWW 577

Happy Wednesday and Happy WOYWW!  Don't know what I am talking about?  Then visit Julia's blog where you can find all the details. I hope that you are all staying safe and well. I have enjoyed two socially distanced walks and a socially distanced swim this week which has been wonderful!
This is my desk as it was yesterday evening, where I was playing with some acrylic inks.  You can see the acrylic inks, craft mat, my large mug of tea, water jar, paintbrushes and index cards.  If you look to the right of the picture you will see my new washi tape storage (I copied Sarah's solution) which has cleared up some of the usual mess at the back and side of my desk.
Here are my index cards for this week (one short as I haven't yet done todays!). I have mostly been playing with collages this week using Tim Holtz ephemera, stamps and stickers but couldn't resist a water colour bird themed one inspired by Heather's beautiful birds.
I have also made a couple of cards this week - this one was for my Father-in-law
This one was for Tim for our 19th Wedding anniversary that we celebrated yesterday.
Talking about our anniversary these are my presents! Lots of lovely goodies to play with.
I have swum most days this past week, mainly in an old reservoir which is in a park in Sheffield. These beautiful wildflower flowerbeds are next to it.
It is beautifully clear and lovely (and warmer than the river!) and is doing me the world of good. Alex has joined me occasionally but is also meeting friends for socially distanced fun in the park. With the slight relax of rules, my Mum is now in a 'bubble' with my brother so had a wonderful time last weekend staying with him and his family, which did her the world of good.  I can't wait until we can go and see her, but 5 hours away means we will have to be able to stay so not possible yet.
I will leave you with this photo of Alex winning a challenge at Scouts on Monday - how many clothes pegs can you attach to your face - he had 29 on him!
Stay safe and well everyone,
With love and God Bless,
Caro

Lovely anniversary present especially the Malteasers.
Wow swimming in the reservoir is it not cold. I haven't even been in the sea or pool yet.
Those clothes pegs must have hurt and I bet he had marks on his face afterwards.
Have a good week. Ani

Ow, he's made of strong stuff, that son of yours - it looks really painful with all those pegs! Well done for winning though, lol! I do like seeing your index cards, they're a really pleasing format, not too big or small.

Morning Caro. OUCH!! I hurt for your son! I'm sure scouts didn't do things like that in my dad's day... I like your funky bird art - great fun - well done on keeping up with your challenge. Glad your mum has been able to bubble with your brother - here in Wales we can't do that yet - and my family are not here in the Homeland, so who knows when I shall see any of them again. Joy in Nottingham and Ruth in Quainton means a three or four hour journey to them - and no loo stops available!! Hmmm...
Happy anniversary yesterday to the pair of you!
Take care. Stay safe. God bless.

Ouch, Alex! That right there is a picture of how competitive he can be! Makes me shiver! Great collection of ICADs again this week, I like the collage look, not very good at it myself. A nice thoughtful bounty of gifts there Caro, no doubt next weeks cards will feature some new techniques then?! Congratulations on your anniversary. My word, you’re young!

Super index cards - I think I like the birdies best! Happy anniversary - I think Sarah must have got it wrong - she thought it was the 17th - and I thought I beat you as it's my 18th coming up LOL - not for another month though. Swimming in that reservoir sounds wonderful - hopefully you can travel and see your mum soon. Sounds like you're taking the rules very seriously. (We seldom go anywhere anyway, so we're naturally socially distanced LOL). That photo of Alex is hilarious - and painful - it must have hurt! Keep happy and enjoy your goodies! I love acrylic inks too - they behave like watercolours, but the're permanent! zsuzsa #24 xx

Happy belated anniversary, love the card and the new goodies look very inviting - I bet you can't wait to play! I am loving your index cards this week, the natural history theme is right up my street and I love your style.
Alex is very brave doing that - hope the prize was worth the pain!
Have a lovely week,

Happy Anniversary! What a lovely inspiring lot of goodies you received - he's a keeper ;-) It warms my heart to see brushes and inks and paints being used on a desk. I might have to do more of the messy stuff myself now. Have a great week, Lisa-Jane #14

Ouch Alex! That can’t have been comfortable. Love your index cards, I have been using up some index card backgrounds that I painted last year, but didn’t do anything more with them. I do hope that is within the rules. I had quite a stack left over. Enjoy your swimming x Angela #33

Happy anniversary, Caro! Lots of lovely pressies too. I love your cards, and as usual, the photos of you out and about enjoying your gorgeous surroundings. The wild flower meadow is just fabulous - this is how I would love our primrose bank in the garden to look! Perhaps I should suggest to my hubby that we get some wildflower seeds for next year. He says the primroses have spread again since flowering this year. The picture of Alex with the clothes pegs has to be one of the most bizarre things I've seen in ages - hilarious!! What WILL they think of next? Lol lol!!

Happy WOYWW and God bless,

Hi Caro, sorry for the late visit. Time ran away with me yesterday! Happy anniversary for Tuesday, you got some fab presents, which I'm sure you will have fun with. The ICADs are great - I do love the little birds, I'm thinking of making some with robins for Christmas. You are lucky having such a lovely place to go swimming - we have nowhere like that around here. My first word was ouch when I saw Alex's photo - 10 out of 10 for effort on that challenge, he definitely deserved to win. Have a lovely week and stay safe and well, Heather xx #4

Happy Anniversary!
Lovely gifts! Someone sure knows you!

At first glance, I thought the lockdown had gotten to Alex and he was just that bored....hope the win came with a neat prize! And I hope no lasting scars.

Sorry to be late getting around. Had an appointment out of town which got me out of whack!

Stay safe!
Happy Friday!

Kathryn

Thanks for visiting, Caro - I was determined to get the cardigan right because otherwise all that time and effort would have been wasted, not to mention the gorgeous yarn! It's now drying, having been washed, and I shall see if it fits me OK. So funny about your hubby and his soft biscuits! Is he a dunker? He would HATE my concrete biscuits! Even dunking them for several minutes, you have to be careful with your teeth! They taste really good, though, so I'm looking forward to making them again and not letting them get so hard.

Hugs and God bless,
