WOYWW 599

Welcome back to my blog for another edition of What's on your Workdesk Wednesday, courtesy of the lovely Julia.  The week has gone back so fast I almost didn't post as I didn't remember it was already Wednesday!

I will therefore keep this short and sweet. Here is my desk while making another clean and simple style of Christmas card, with the distress inks in a strip down to one side. You can see the inks, applicators, ruler, stamps and nearly empty mug of tea.  I wouldn't be me without tea!

This is the final design. The white stars are added afterwards with a posca paint pen.  I will probably end up doing several of this one and several of last weeks one, but do have other ideas as well.  They need to be clean, simple and quick, due to lack of time on my part.

This week has been crazy because Alex has an assessment week at school so in addition to my work I have had to help him with revision (a very painful process due to ADHD).  I have managed to sneak in a few swims as well to help with my sanity (including one under this stunning rainbow - I am the swimmer with the orange float).

This plunge pool swim on Monday was my coldest to date (6.5 oC in the water), and was truly wonderful. I am loving how alive it makes me feel.

That is all from me for now. I am very much looking forward to the zoom sessions and seeing some of you then.  In the meantime, please take care and stay safe.

With love & God Bless,

Caro

Hi Caro! I think that card is lovely and agree that clean and simple is the way to go! I do envy you the swimming, there are some people that go in off the beach but at the moment there are Portuguese Men of War being washed up all along the coastline so that doesn’t seem very safe!

I must get some more inks, I love the orange-y-reds on your card. A lot of mine have dried up living in the actic for about 6 years. No, you still won't get me in the water this side of June!!

Hi, Caro!
I am with you., It is hard for me (and my hubby, too) to keep track and remember what day it is.

Love your color blending! Your card is striking!

Your blog certainly conveys exuberance and vibrancy! Both the icy swims and beautiful landscapes. And those clouds are gorgeous, too!

Hope to “see” you on the Zoom meeting.

Stay well and Happy Wednesday!

Kathryn.

The cloud is stunning. The rainbow too. How are your lips not blue??

The card is lovely - the plain black image really stands out over the gradient. I always get so many good card ideas on WOYWW day, but I can never settle down and make them! {sigh}

Happy WOYWW!

The card is beautiful Caro. Always seems so special to see a rainbow. Glad that the swimming helps you so much though couldn't do it in that temperature. Take care and stay safe. Anne x 14

I had a sneaky peep at last weeks as I couldn't make it, that card design is so effective Caro, great work. Love it when a design can be repeated. You look so happy in that water, makes me shudder at the thought of that temperature as I type cuddled up in a blanket with the heating on.. Stay safe Hugs Tracey #12 x

I love your card! Great blending of the colors. I've been seeing more and more of that style.
Just thinking of the coldness of the water makes me shiver!

I love the style of that card, Caro - it's very stylish to have that splash of colour in a strip with the stamping on top. Great. I can't believe you are still swimming!!! I got frozen half to death this p.m. getting my washing in (not dry!) - if I went swimming I wouldn't feel alive, I'd be dead, I think lol!! Well done being so encouraging and patient with Alex, helping him. It must be hard for you both but I am sure your patience will be rewarded.

Happy belated WOYWW and God bless,

I’m late again, but no less nourished for visiting you gal! Beautiful card again, I think keeping it simple is pretty much in keeping for this year anyway really, so you’re maintains a theme! I hope Alex’s assessment was positive, the strategies needed for revision really require inventive and patient brains, so you’ve done well, again!
