Welcome back to another edition of What's on Your Workdesk (WOYWW) courtesy of Julia.
This is my desk as it was yesterday having a gentle evening of crafting in my journals. Stickers, photos and various pens alongside my trusty mug of tea. I will show them properly next week.
I hope you all managed to enjoy Christmas in some way. I have actually been very blessed with two Christmas days, one in Sheffield (home) with Tim and Alex...
and then Alex and I went down to Mum in Somerset as her support bubble (Alex and I had been essentially isolating for 11 days prior to this, and Tim is too ill to travel that far). We had a very fleeting visit with her, which included a walk along the cliff tops at Exmouth to the beach at Sandy Cove (much quieter)
and then back for a picnic lunch of smoked salmon sandwiches, soup and mince pies sat on the front. We then went back to her house for presents, a zoom call with my brother and his family (who were stuck in Tier 4) and Christmas dinner and a film.
Needless to say I was exhausted when we returned home, but it was worth every minute of the drive to see her and make sure she was not alone for Christmas. Since being back I have rested, read, ate far too much and swum a few times!
I will finish with this picture of me in the snow yesterday partway through a massive snowball fight on our street with our neighbours - Alex had just dumped a shovel load of snow on my head, and Alex during our sledging in the afternoon! Take care everyone, Stay safe and I pray that we will all have a much better and easier 2021.
With love & God Bless,
Caro

SO glad you were able to safely see your Mum over Christmas Caro. It was so good to see all our boys on the day and glad the the two oldest are able to work from home. Stay safe, happy WOYWW and Happy New Year. Sarah #9
What lovely photos, especially the ones in Somerset where it looks as if the sun was shining for you all. You didn't drive there and back in one day did you?
By stark contrast I love the snow photos.
Here's to a better year ahead than the one we have just had. Keep crafting, blogging and stay safe, happy and well.
Blessings, Neet 13 xx
Great that you were able to visit your Mum - what a long trip that must have been, but much enjoyed by all I am sure. I am glad you had fun in the snow - but please keep it there! I don't expect to see any swimming pics for a while! Wishing you a happy and healthy New Year and enjoy the rest of your break from work (I will be so used to not working it will be hard to go back on Monday!) Helen #5
I’m so pleased that your had such a lovely Christmas Caro, this year has really brought home how family and friends are important, stuff isn’t. I can’t believe you’re still swimming, am impressed by your bravery, lol!!
Hugs and Happy New Year!

Hi Caro, lovely photographs. I am amazed you have had snow enough to play with. (Where do you live?) we have just had wet, wet, wet! There was a touch of snow/frost 0n the shed roof this morning. My husband is out with the dogs and they are going to get so mucky! Dolly will go into the sink as soon as he comes back, leaving him to do the bigger dogs! Sorry to hear Tim is not well. Hope he feels bettsoon. Wishing you a happy and healthy new year x Angela #14
The beach walks look lovely. Weve done a bit of that, but no snow here. Still fill I need an extra thick coat on when I see you swimming!
Happy New Year! Hoping 2021 will be better. Happy WOYWW!? Happy crafting! And stay safe. ((Lyn)) #19
Beautiful pictures Caro, so lovely to see you enjoying a happy couple of days off. A long drive to see your Mama, but so so worthwhile in so many ways. We didn’t have enough snow for those sort of frolics, I can just hear the delight! Love to you for a healthy and happy 2021, I’m so looking forward to being able to declare a Crop, that group hug thing never seemed so attractive!
Hi Caro, goodness me you have been a busy bee so far this Christmas - it was great that you were able to see your Mum, and the photos are all lovely. I can't believe you are still swimming - do you have to break the ice before you get in?? And I hadn't realised how tall Alex now is, until the last photo. Have a lovely week and Happy New Year, hugs Heather xx #30
Caro, what a cozy post! I always LOVE visiting your blog! I am so happy that you got to go be with your mom for the holiday! It does sound like a whirlwind, but as you said, so wonderful to get to be with her so she would not be alone for the holiday! Love the snow shots...and...I'm envious! I would love to see some snow! Love it! Happy New year to you full of health and joy! Blessings, Felicia #31
Hi Caro, pleased you managed to see your family. We went to mum's yesterday to take her shopping and were quite surprised to see all the snow. South Yorkshire may not be far from us but it's always cooler even in summer. Hoping for a better New Year. Sending woyww hugs, Angela x17x
Hi Caro - some beautiful stickers there - I do love stickers! I think I was deprived as a child - that's why I love all those things kids usually like - stickers, glitter, gems etc! I'm feeling super jealous about the snow - we only had some dusting and there's nothing lined up in the forecast :( My goodness, Alex has really grown - he might be taller than my 16-year-old, who hasn't even reached my height yet. I do like your happy family shots - I don't know if that's a filter but you always look like so fresh faced - all three of you! Wishing you a wonderful 2021 and thanks for your visit! xx zsuzsa #24
You look like you had a fab time this Christmas despite the challenges. Great photos to capture your memories too. Thanks for the help with mags & gelli plate, I must give it a go soon. Take care with love, hugs & blessings, Sue #22. xx
Glad you got to see your mum! We had a very quiet day. Hope Tim gets better soon. And what fun to have a snowball fight!
Happy New Year!

Caro I am so pleased you could see your mum. I have been remembering my mum and Christmas memories. Many memories of Chard at Christmas.I just wanted to pop and say Happy New Year - well I hope it will be. I blogged but still struggling to link up :-( Take care, stay safe. Anne x
LOL! I just managed to comment on LAST week's WOYWW and now here I am again! Lovely mostly tidy desk, and LOTS of SNOW. Can't say I envy you - I love looking at it but not fighting my way thru it. Of course having moved to a small town where we can walk to like 6 grocery stores, rather than living in a dip between two upwards sloping single track curvy lanes where we once needed a tractor to get us up a hill to get to a store has tempered my distaste a bit :)
Happy (almost) 2021!
Mary Anne (6)
I'm so happy you had time with those extra special in your life over the festive season, all so well thought out to keep everyone safe but still be together. May there be a shining light in 2021 to watch over and keep you all safe. Happy WoywW Tracey #7
So glad you enjoyed your two Christmases. I thought you might be swimming Christmas day. One thing I don't miss is the snow. wishing you a Happy and Healthy New Year. Ani
Lovely post Caro - so glad you managed to get down to see your Mum. What a weird Christmas it's been. Let's hope 2021 is a far better year for all. Take care and stay safe. All the best. x Jo

It looks as if you had a lovely time with your family over Christmas, Caro, and very well done, managing to get down to see your mum as well. We had the quietest Christmas ever, with just us 2 and the kitties and our nut roast! Thanks for your comment and I'm glad you enjoyed my bits and pieces this week.
Happy belated WOYWW, Happy New Year and God bless,

Had meant to get round to my replies earlier than this but with one thing and another....better late than never as the saying goes.
Gosh that was a long journey Sheffield to Somerset! Sorry to hear Tim is too ill to travel that far but I guess the time with your son is precious. I always hated Surrey to Cheshire/Devon and still hate Surrey to Wales! So glad I had the best excuse in the world NOT to travel this year although Mother disowned me again last Christmas and we haven't been in contact for a year anyways, phew!
Love your journal etc. can't wait to see them "properly" next week. I've been doing my gradient jigsaw puzzle, most satisfying one to date, my son knows me well! Over half way with it now, guessing it will be done by Wednesday much to everyone's surprise!
Happy New Year BJ#10
So pleased that you managed two Christmas Days!
Cannot believe that you are still swimming! Sledging seems much more appropriate!
Happy WOYWW!
Stay safe and keep well!
Update on here in Victoria – after more than two months with no Covid cases we now have a handful again…

HI Caro, hopefully this finds your husband being on the mend and I am totally amazed to see the swimming shots along with the snow fights. ( that looks like you should be totally in one season or the other kind of a thing so the contradiction is eye catching for sure) (and I shivered) :) ~Stacy #41
