Welcome back to my blog and the weekly desk hop hosted by Julia called What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday (WOYWW).
This photo of my desk was taken on Tuesday evening - I am trying to get into the habit of putting things away when I have finished crafting and having a tidy desk so all you can really see are the cards I made on Monday, my ipad, my bullet journal sitting on top of the latest craft stamper magazine, the paint water (still to be cleared away) and a pad of paper with weekend plans on it - I was trying to work out when we could hold Alex's birthday party.
Just in case you think that my desk is always that tidy - here it is when I was in the middle of working in my art journal over the weekend. Alex went out for the afternoon to his mate's leaving me free to play - and yes, I did create chaos and have a wonderful time in the process.
Here is the finished journal page using a mixture of gesso, stablilo woodies (water colour pencils), ink sprays, brushos, stamping and embossing. The main stamp is a Dina Wakley one, the others are a mix and I cant remember where i got them from (sorry).
To finish here are my two Mother's Day cards made using my cuttlebug and some free stamps coloured in with prismacolor crayons.
I hope you all have a lovely week and enjoy the spring sunshine.
With love & God Bless

WOYWW 511
Well here we are again for the weekly nose around the crafting desks of the world courtesy of Julia. You can join in the fun at her blog.
Here is my offering for this week - finally some crafting underway. I had about 20 minutes to play in my art journal yesterday so I pulled out a random selection of supplies and played! Boy was it fun and therapeutic. You can see brushos, distress paints, posca pens, actylic paints and the journal. This was taken part way through the page.
Here is the finished article - it was a quick one taking less than 20 minutes so I couldn't over analyse or plan too much (that's what tends to stop me being creative).
This is the close up of the image (from Crafty Individuals) and the sentiment sticker from Illustrated Faith.
Last weekend Alex went to a scouts tournament in all that rain and wind - he was tired and filthy at the end of it, but very happy because...
his team came joint first for the Hallam Trophy after completing 10 different tasks. That's all from me for now. Have a great week everyone.

WOYWW 510
Crazy busy week this week so I feel like I am chasing my tail a bit – work is insanely busy and it is impacting
a little on life at home as there is just so much to do. I am hoping that
things will calm down a little next week as marking should be completed and
other projects are easing off. Anyway onto the reason that you are all here –
WOYWW – my favourite weekly blog hop
As a result I haven’t had a huge amount of time to play over
the past week, but did spend a happy hour last night getting my Bullet
Journal/diary up to date again. Playing
with printing mini photos and pens and stickers. On my desk you can see my journal,
mini printer and various inks, pens etc as well as my large mug of tea (almost
finished at that time).
I am going to keep this short and sweet as Miss Julia likes
it, and end with a photo of Alex learning to build flat pack furniture. He really quite enjoyed himself and was proud
of the success he had – mind you we still have two more drawers to complete!
This weekend’s task I feel…
That’s all for now, I hope that you all have a lovely week.

Caro

WOYWW 509
Where has that week gone? Work has been crazy busy and almost without me noticing it we are back at Wednesday again so here is my desk as part of WOYWW.
On my desk you can actually see some crafting in action - a birthday card for my sister in law who loves to dance. You can also see inks pads, sponges, pens etc. My mug of tea is half-finished and my laptop charging cable is draped across the desk.
In other news Alex had scout camp this last weekend and survived the high winds and rain coming back tired and filthy but happy having had a wonderful time.
And to finish here is a picture of Alex trying to flip a pancake - great height but a shame it didn't entirely land in the pan on the way down - he was much more successful when he wasn't as vigorous with the throw! That's all from me for now. Have a wonderful week everyone.

WOYWW 508
It is Wednesday and time for Julia's weekly blog and desk hop known as 'What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday' or WOYWW.
My desk is neat and tidy as I am getting my journal up to date so only pens, the book, my miniprinter etc are in use. The rest are detritus from being away (medication, kindle, audio CDs etc) and my usual large (pint) mug of tea!
We were down in Somerset last week visiting my mum and the weather was incredible - we spent most of the time outside helping to prune roses etc, going for lovely walks, and enjoying the spring flowers and unseasonably warm weather. The photo above is of Mum, my brother and me and her three grandchildren.
We also got to see Gran who has definitely turned a corner and is doing much better - she is now working on her stamina so that she can walk with more confidence and further. It is managing doors, with her walker that is proving the challenge. Needless to say Alex loved being with his cousins and the three of them had fun den building in the hedge.
That is all from me for now. Have a great week everyone. Take care,

WOYWW 506!
How did it get to be Wednesday already? I guess it means that it is time to show you
my desk as part of the wonderful world wide desk hop that is WOYWW (see Julia’sblog for further details)
On my desk at the moment are my bullet journal (at the
back), my prayer journal and one of my Bibles (I do have loads!), and a form I
need to fill in before my MRI scan on Friday – nothing serious, just some
niggles that need sorting. You can also see a stencil that hasn’t been put
away. I am currently in the process of
service planning for the evening service on Sunday and seeking
inspiration.
Last week I mentioned that I was acting in a murder mystery. Well here I am in my costume dressed as Wendy
Beaumont the substitute vicar – it turned out I was a complete fake, I was
actually a cleaner and turned out to be the murderer! It was one of those evenings where the acts
of the play were interspersed with food, and then at the end the audience had
to decide who was the murderer, and then finally I had to do a monologue
interspersed with some questions from angels to explain that it was me and
why. The play was actually written by a retired
vicar so had a strong Christian message at the end of it. It went down very well and was great fun to
do.
In other news Gran is home! We still need to persuade her to walk further
but at least she is back at home with a care package in place. I wont be here
next week as I will be down in Somerset visiting her and Mum over half-term.
Have a great couple of weeks everyone

Caro

WOYWW 505
Welcome to the Wednesday desk hop hosted by Julia.
My desk this week has actually seen some action - although sadly only on one day because I have been busy rehearsing for the murder mystery play this weekend. We are putting it on as a church social and it should be really good fun - I am playing the part of the substitute vicar. Here I am in the middle of messing with paints in my journal, with the paints, pain pens, water jar, and my faithful mug of tea all in evidence on the desk
The idea behind this was to not have a plan just to mess around with different simple marks and practice my brush work because I always make a mess when trying to do neat brushing. It was a very therapeutic 45 minutes just sat painting with no plan and netflix on in the background.
The other fun from this week was the fact that Alex and I bought an Ikea shark, which he named Bill. Bill has made himself very comfortable around the house and provided much fun and entertainment to us both. Gran is still in respite but is now at last having some decent physio... the only real thing stopping her from going home now is fear so hopefully she will make the decision to go home soon.
Thanks for visiting. Take care this week.
