It is melting!

This weekend Alex and I have had a lot of fun in the melting snow (we still have about 8 inches).  Yesterday it was actually the right consistency for us to build a decent snowman! I was told that I had to do it properly with three snowballs of different sizes and then the snowman had to have a carrot for a nose. We found fircones for his eyes (here is Alex trying to put in one of the eyes)
Alex then decided that Frosty needed a bow tie and a smile...the smile was the most difficult, but we succeeded in the end.
Alex kept hugging Frosty and saying hello and wanting his picture taken with him.
Later on, when it was almost dark Frosty had to wear Alex's hat! Today we went toboganning in the nearby fields where there is an excellent slope.  It is the first time we have ever been there and it was the greatest of fun...there was no way Alex could go by himself as the slope is too steep and it goes too fast, but I loved it as much as he did...neither of us wanted to come home!
Crafting wise I have had a busy weekend.  It doesn't feel as though I have made a scrapbook layout for ages what with preparations for Christmas etc so I was determined that I would create a layout this weekend.  I used the Sketchy Thursday sketch and the Pollycraft 'chipboard' challenge.  I also took inspiration from this week's Scrap it with a song, taking the phrase 'best friends' to describe Alex and his Uncle Andrew (my brother). The journalling reads 'Alex and his Uncle Andrew are great friends so when Uncle Andrew came to visit Alex was wildly excited and wanted to show him everything.  We went to Endcliffe Park where they fed the ducks, played games in the playground and explored the woods. It was a very special day!.
This card is made for a little girl who is into pink!  I used Henry the mouse from Whiff of Joy stamps and coloured him in with my promarkers and added glitter glue to the icing.  The card follows this weeks Unscripted sketch, and the theme of 'candles' from CCC and All sorts.
I have also made three ATCs for a Christmas/winter swap on CMPC forum.  As a result I think that these all fit with the Christmas song (Winter wonderland, Rudolph the red nosed reindeer and Jingle bells) theme from OLL, 'on the go' theme from the Crazy Challenge, Christmas from SCSC and snowflakes froom Sew Many Cards.
Finally it was my turn to set the challenge over at Quirky Crafts and I chose a theme of around the world.  Now this can be interpreted in any way you chose and using any media you like and as it is the run up to Christmas Penguins and polar bears also count!  Please come on over and join in the fun!  I chose to go back to Oriental, something I love but haven't done for ages.  Sadly this photo is a little bleached, but you can get the general ideas. The chinese lettering in the bottom right hand corner means 'love'.   I hope you have all had a wonderful weekend and have a great week.
Love,
Caro
