Busy at work!

Well I had a lovely Valentines Day, what with lovely presents, a day off work to enjoy crafting and a trip to the cinema to see the Kings Speech - wonderful film, but since then it has been back to work with a bang as I have to set an exam paper, not a job I enjoy doing!  Hey Hoh, never mind.  In order to cheer me up in the evenings I have been playing with my new crafting goodies and as it is Wednesday it is time to show you my desk as part of Julia's WOYWW! My desk is relatively organised as I needed the space to play with my new crafting toys.  At the back of the desk you can see my new inkpads and Lavinia stamps (a Valentines Day present from Tim) and towards the front you can see my brayer, the brayered card I am working on, a thistle stamp or two, scrap paper, my very beaten up cutting mat (It is no longer flat having been too close to the heat gun on more than one occassion!), and to the left some baby wipes for cleaning off stamps and brayer. Before you ask I do have my usual mug of tea, but it is hiding to the right of my computer out of shot  where it is in less danger of being knocked over!
I discovered a new challenge blog this week called 'Less is more'. Now, this is right up my street as I just love the clean and simple lines.  The challenge for this week is a single layer card, so I masked out a rectangular background and used my new sunshine yellow Adirondack inkpad to brayer and sunshine sky then stamped my new thistle stamps using versafine imperial purple and olympia green. Unfortunately my sentiment stamp has warped a little, but you get the idea.  I am also entering this card for Tuesday taggers 'sky' as the background is a sunrise sky and SCSC 'stamped flower' challenge (I hope a Thistle flower still counts).
I like the Less is more challenge so much that I also made another card, which is even simpler just using dandelion stamps and versafine onyx black, the lighter images are second impressions. I then added some black dots and glitter glue as a finishing touch.  As the glitter glue adds an element of glitz, I am entering this card for the PTW 'glitz' challenge.
Finally I made a new home card using another Lavinia stamp coloured in with promarkers.  This card follows the sketch from stamp with fun and the three patterned papers (all K&Co, the pink and pale green pattern is very subtle texture and lines) challenge from Flourishes Timeless Tuesday. That is all from me for today. Have a great rest of the week.
Love,
Caro

For a minute there I thought you didn't have a cup of tea! I expect an hour of crafting really takes away the stress of an exam setting thing - that sounds very difficult to me! Really like the brayer use and the colour you chose.
