Cards (WOYWW)

Wednesday again! Where is the time going? This week my desk, which I am showing you as part of the wonderful blog hop that is WOYWW, is looking relatively empty as I tidied up a little after making the card you can see on there (my mother-in-laws birthday card). My trusty mug of tea is there almost empty now, having sustained me during the crafting session.
This week I have actually managed to make some cards for a change.  I made two of these for the Mothering Sunday cards for my Mum and my mother-in-law (sadly I only have a ‘Mothers Day’ stamp, so they will have to cope with the American version!).  I masked the oval and used distress inks to ink a sunset background, and then stamped a Crafty Inspirations stamp on top.
This birthday card was made by pressing a versa colour ink pad directly through a Tim Holtz stencil and then fixing the embellishments on top.
I have continued with my art journal as well for this week; this time the sermon was on ‘Discipleship is a call to make disciples’.  This was a challenging one to do, but I think I managed to distil the main elements of the sermon into it.  That is all from me for now.  Have a great week everyone.

Super cards Caro,
I wish I still had my Mum alive so I could make one for her.
your journal pages are really effective and really do get over the message.
Good to be back ....

Great work on both of those Mothers Day cards. You almost never hear the term Mothering Sunday these days which is a great pity.
Happy Wednesday

Really pretty cards, Caro. And what a great idea, using the sermon theme for art journal LOs, I may have to borrow that from you!

Happy woyww to you!

WOW super pieces this week. Love the distress through an oval mask, I really ought to try this again as I was shown it at a craft club last year. (Not a stamper at heart really) and your ink through a stencil is effective too. Know exactly what you mean about the Mothering Sunday thing, my Mother won't stand for anything else so I typed the sentiment out for this year's card. Great journal page too, it is great being able to express other things through craft isn't it? BJ#70

Caro, thanks for your visit, do hope you ge around to stamping with bleach, it is addictive.
Love your Mothering Sunday cards, unfortunately both my mum and OH's are long gone so don't get to make any of them now, but I love the oval one. Someone will be very pleased to receive that.
Bless you

Hullo there Caro,
Mm, love both your cards very imaginative ... have just been using the DI for blending this week and found they are surprisingly very easy to use, too not that am showing those cards yet.. still on a mission to finish them all.. still love my Adirondack inks though.. but was surprised with DI.

Unlike lots of folks Tim's things are not always my go-to, as dont have a lot of them anyway..

We have Mother's day here too, not generally mothering Sunday; and it the second Sunday in May.
Love new ideas on second card .. well done! Shaz in Oz.x # thanks for popping over :D

Like JoZart, I no longer have anyone to make a Mothering Sunday card for, but that lovely card you made could be used for lots of other occasions. The colour blending is so lovely. Thank you for your visit this week. It was certainly a good show, even if the credit card took a bit of a battering. Have a good week. xx Maggie #8
