WOYWW475

Wow, another week has flown by and it is time for another nosey around the crafting desks of blogland courtesy of Julia. So in the fine tradition of the desks, here is mine!
This was taken this morning. Last night I had just finished decorating another index card for the index card a day (ICAD) challenge. I had started to put away some of the things I used such as the acrylic paints and distress inks but then got sidetracked and left it in this state!
This was the card I was working on.  I have now completed 40 index cards out of the 61 with most of them completed on the day.  The following photos are just a few of the index cards I have made this week, trialling very different techniques and media, but all using Bible quotes as their inspiration.
Watery scenes using stamps, brushos, and distress inks
Musical background using washy tape and then tissue paper I had used as a rag for mopping up paint and ink and cleaning paint brushes!
A couple of Lavinia Stamps and additional drawing and then water colours
Water colours blown across the page.

Finally I thought I would finish off with this photo of Alex proudly walking back from his first transition day at secondary school.  His new school is a 35 minute walk from home and he walked all the way there by himself.  I did offer to give him a lift, but he was determined to do it.  He seemed to enjoy the transition days, and likes his form tutor so we are praying that it all works out for him in the Autumn.

Thanks for visiting, comments are always welcome
Love
Caro

Your index cards are fab and all so very different, love that! It's one of the better challenges I've seen online. And good for Alex for being determined to walk, actually I think it's a great move in so many ways and will give him a chance to let the school day fade away before he gets home when it starts for real.

Morning Caro. I still can't believe that young Alex is getting ready for Secondary school! I do trust it will be a good experience for him. Your index cards are stunning - and I love the one for today - just such an applicable verse for so many in our church at the moment!
Take care. God bless.

Love the index cards - the underwater one is gorgeous, I do love the vibrant rich colours. Glad your boy is enjoying school, I think transition days are a brilliant idea, I wish we'd had them when I was young!
Have a great week,

Hi Caro, your index cards are lovely, I especially like the underwater one.
It’s Always lovely when children like their new school and teacher as it’s such a worry, our GSs are both starting a new school too and are apprehensive although they enjoyed their visit.
Have a lovely weekend

Hi Caro, loving the cards. Pleased to see Alex enjoying his visits. It's good to see him walking to and from school, great for keeping you fit though looking at him I imagine he's quite active anyway. Have a lovely woyww, Angela x13x

Wow, Caro, am loving the cards, admiring our staying power with them too! I had to go back and double check though...no mug of tea. Is that proof that you’re fitting in all this mixed media work at odd intervals? I bet it is. They are fab cards, you must be enjoying the stretch and use of your resources too. Now which comes first..the bible verse you’re going to use or the idea to use a technique to illustrate a verse?

The index cards all look fabulous in their own glorious colours.. the blue 'watery' card speaks to me the most (but I am from 'Zeeland' in the Netherlands, so that should be obvious...) Thanks for stopping by my blog yesterday, love from Holland, Marit #19

You have some beautiful iCads there Caro, I did like the first one - powerful! Then the second with its blend of my favourite colours and then it just went on and on.
Keep going, you have some great work there.

Really do love those ICADs the Deer really has to be my favourite, love the landscape you created for it along with the words. I really must look into that challenge.
Good luck with your Son's transition, it can be a trying time for us all but he appears to be loving it with his wide smile, maybe he will change his mind on the lift there when the weather is not so good.
Creative Blessing for the week ahead & Thank you for sharing WOYWW

What absolutely gorgeous index cards, Caro - so beautiful and so varied. I love your interpretation of the various Bible verses, especially the first one. Alex looks very pleased with himself after his first day at the new school! Thank you for your visit and I'm glad you like my little heart. My friend was very pleased with it. Esmeralda is going crazy and I've had to move her to a bigger jar or she'd be bursting out all over the kitchen! I think she will be grown up enough to make some sourdough tomorrow. I made sourdough pancakes for lunch today from some of the discarded starter from when I feed her, and they were great. I'm making crackers with some more tonight. So easy to make, so delicious and so healthy!! Sorry to be so long replying but we've been really busy and in between I've been exhausted, so it's taking me a while to catch up with everyone.

Happy belated WOYWW,

Hello Caro. I am sorry I am so late. I went to visit Mum last Wed and lost track of everything.
The cards are wonderful! A super photo of Alex, I'm glad he enjoyed his day, and hope he settles well in Sept. Our youngest grandson, Sam starts High School in Sept as well. Anne x #28
