WOYWW540

It is Wednesday and I am travelling to Bristol and back for work so this is a scheduled post for WOYWW - check out Julia's blog for all the details.
Here is my desk as it was yesterday playing with my new distress oxides and Carabelle stencils. You can also see a new art journal ready for playing in and the base of some Harry Potter figures in the background.
This is because my birthday was this week and I was given this lovely pile of goodies - a mixture of Harry Potter and crafting toys!
This is the card that I made with my first play using distress oxides, Carabelle stencils and Lavinia stamps.  I haven't tried distress oxides before so now need to spend time on YouTube looking at all the different ways you can use them -LOL!  I love the vibrancy of the colours.
My birthday was lovely and peaceful, a mixture of family time with the three of us, time to read, time to craft, some crazy golf and a meal out.  I missed my birthday chats with Gran and Dad, but other than that it was a perfect day.
That is all from me for now as it has to be short and sweet - I am back from Bristol tonight so will try and comment on everyone's posts. In the meantime, Have a lovely week,
With love and God Bless,
Caro

Great birthday prezzies there! I love what you've done with the distress oxides - if I papercrafted, they'd be what I would use, the vibrant colours are just amazing! Hope the travelling to Bristol went ok.

Happy belated Birthday Caro, sounds like you spent it in the perfect way. Fabulous gifts especially the stencils, you will soon find different ways to use those oxides, they are so creamy and rich.. you'll be wanting them all.

Most of my birthdays these days are very quiet. My daughter is always so busy with her life and my sister lives away. Since my husband passed, it is just me but I do fine alone. That is one reason I still make cards...it keeps my hands and mind busy! Happy WOYWW

Hi Caro, so good you had such an enjoyable birthday. Love the card, the Oxides are so vibrant! Not used them as much as I should, lol. Do you know they also show true colour on black cardstock? Thats actually been my main reason for getting some, so the vibrant on white is just a bonus, lol.Have a lovely week, hugs, shaz #7 X

What a lovely set of photographs to celebrate your birthday. Hope you have many more as happy as this one.
The photo of your little family is lovely and one to be treasured, you all have such lovely happy smiles for us to see. I did like the one of you and your hubby with the candle light from your cake too, the candle light was just perfect.
Lovely gifts too - and all so appropriate - you must have a good selection of the Oxides now.
Lovely card, so vibrant and beautifully stamped with those silhouette figures which I never think are easy to use.
Love and Blessings to you and your family

Happy belated birthday, Caro, and what sweet family pics! It sounds as if you had an enjoyable day even if it was somewhat bitter-sweet. Especially at times like birthdays you do miss the ones who are no longer with you, don't you. I love the background you have created with the Distress Oxides. I bought a whole lot more at the craft show recently but still haven't opened them! I love the chalky finish they give, and the fact that you can keep adding more without them turning muddy. They are really juicy!

Happy belated WOYWW,

Thank you for your return visit, Caro, and for your good wishes for my upcoming re-assessment. Last time the lady was very considerate and kind and towards the end when I said how tired I was getting, she kept saying "Nearly finished now..." and at the beginning she got a stool so I could put my feet up! I have asked to have her again so I do hope they manage this. Can't say I'm looking forward to it and I'm feeling really wiped out at the moment not helped by just getting over a cold. At least I've been able to work on my slippers! So glad you like them and I hope you like the finished result.

Hugs and God bless,
