WOYWW 597

Hello and welcome back for another edition of What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday, hosted by the lovely Julia.

Here is my desk looking rather empty - I have to confess that the photo is staged - it was taken late last night after an evening of zoom meetings, when I had put away my computer. On it is my empty mug of tea ready to go downstairs and be washed up, my two new notebooks/planners that I intend to use for next year (the paper quality is lovely), and my new swimming medal (for swimming 10,000m outdoors in October).  I have signed up for a November one, but with the colder water, darker nights and tons of work it is going to be hard to reach 10,000m so I have signed up for 5,000m which is more doable.

I have only done a little crafting this week - making Tim's birthday card as he celebrated his 50th birthday this weekend.

As it was a lockdown birthday we celebrated with food (lots of food!) and films, and family silliness.

Other than that there is not much more to report. We are all staying safe and well. I am involved in our church online services, working hard and happily swimming whenever I can. I mostly swim in a lake, which is actually an old Victorian reservoir in a park in Sheffield (about 2 miles from here), or in the river plunge pool in the valley just below us.  They are both very different in feel as you can see from the photos so where I swim is a mood thing, especially as at the moment they are a similar temperature ~ 9oC.

Standing under the waterfall is wonderful when it isn't too strong, as it feels like a massage. For those of you wondering, I don't wear a wetsuit due to a shoulder injury (I can't get them on or off by myself and getting dry and warm quickly after getting out is essential), but I do swim in a hat and have neoprene gloves and socks - they make all the difference.

That is all from me for now. I hope that you all have a good week. Take care and stay safe, and let me know if there is anything I can do to help anyone.

With love & God Bless,
Caro

xx

I love seeing the photos of you swimming - you look so happy and healthy. You have a lovely complexion and I think this is due to the water - keep going as long as you can.
Belated birthday greetings to your husband, lovely card and cake and what a fabulously happy family birthday card (once they stopped mucking about LOL)
Take care, Hugs and Blessings, Neet 5 xx

Beautiful photographs again. Thanks for sharing. I’m getting into the joys of planners and found it useful last night when I was in a zoom meeting. I was doodling away to help me concentrate. It really helped. Take care with hugs from Sue #18 xx

Hi, Caro!
Great inspiration, as usual! Love your beautiful pictures as the seasons change.

The family shot is priceless! What does Tim do? I do not recall.

You are a wonderful example of surviving and thriving during a pandemic!

Stay safe and Happy Wednesday!

Wow, Caro, all that busy, all that swimming and you have time to look forward to next year with new notebooks. You’re amazing. And oh, I can almost smell the new paper waiting for you. Bliss! Happy returns to Tim, tell him, it may not be very exclusive but it’s not a bad club to be in, this fifty thing!!

Brrrrr 9 degrees C? No thanks, Caro!!! You are made of tougher stuff than Shoshi, I'm afraid! Congratulations indeedy on the medal, and for signing up for another month's worth of freezing swimming! It sounds as if you've been pretty busy lately. My hubby gave me a Zoom lesson this week and I was able to join in our Arts Society lecture very successfully on Thursday. I now feel more confident about the upcoming WOYWW one! Hope you will be there too.

Thank you for visiting, and I'm glad you enjoyed the photos.

Happy belated WOYWW and God bless,

Gorgeous photos of your local area - the valley is so picturesque. Congratulations on the October medal, that is one huge achievement and I hope you succeed in November - I shall keep my fingers crossed for you that we don't hit a really cold spell. I love the birthday card you made your hubby, such a great idea and so effective, and that's a really lovely happy photo of your family.
Hope you have a good week,

You're a braver lady than I - I couldn't do outdoor swimming. Barely manage indoor swimming at the mo, to be honest!

Happy Birthday to Tim!

Love the art journal pages. I never quite got into that, although I did make a start and did one page. I have to have a goal for creating, I can't just make a mess for the sake of it. And I have so many projects on the go!

Happy WOYWW - thanks for swinging by (or is that swimming by) and apologies for the late visit!

Whoops - my comment will have made no sense, and that's what you get for having two windows open at the same time! Daft me.

Love a good notebook though!
