WOYWW 615

Hello and welcome back to my blog for another edition of What’s on Your Workdesk courtesy of the lovely Julia. I was inspired by Jan’s post last week as you can see in the picture below and for a change I have spent some time this week doodling and watercolouring backgrounds.

This is why on my desk you can see my note book in which I am doodling, my water colours, pens, nearly empty tea and my iPad (I sometimes like to watch/listen to things on iplayer and/or Netflix while I craft)

Jan mentioned CeeCee creations last week and I was inspired to go and have a nosey on her YouTube channel. What a fabulous source of inspiration! I used an adaptation of one of her designs to make Mother’s day cards for my mum and mother-in-law.

I then found this notebook (an old one of Gran’s) and decided to doodle in it with watercolours both using my own ideas and basing them on CeeCee creations.  I am having fun with this! They are nice and gentle to do with no pressure to be precise…. Perfect for where I am right now. It isn’t water colour paper but as this is just for me it doesn’t really matter!

Alex went back to school this week and was delighted to see his friends and have proper lessons again.  It has been good for me too as I have had more time to crack on with my own work (and greater ability to concentrate), although the house does feel very quiet!

I have kept up with the swimming and the water temperature is gradually creeping up meaning I can finally start swimming a little further again. It was truly glorious in the park yesterday with brilliant sunshine. It’s hard to believe that this is in the middle of a big city isn’t it!

I have my vaccine tomorrow so fingers crossed that the side effects are not too bad.  Take care everyone, stay safe, and as ever, if there is anything I can do for anyone, do let me know.

With love & God Bless,

Caro

Morning Caro. Great paintings! You have been busy - they are lovely. They are so much more than Doodling!!! Hope the vaccine goes well. I didn't have any real side effects - desperately tired the next day, and a slightly stiff arm, but that was all with the AZ one.
take care. God bless.

Fabulous creations Caro! I must look at these myself as I've been inspired by Jan's works as well. It looks achievable rather than feeling totally overwhelmed from the off. It's good to have the children back at school isn't it? It makes such a difference to them being out and about and chatting in real life. Stay safe and keep smiling, Lisa-Jane #8

Your watercolour doodles are really lovely and good for you getting some fresh air - I feel healthier just looking at your pictures LOL! I've bought some MISO stickers inspired by your previous post - I've been looking for something like those but never knew what they were called! Haven't tried them yet but I'm sure they will come in handy one day! Happy WOYWW! zsuzsa #21

Hi again. Oh yes!! When crossing the border is permitted, do let me know when you are coming this way. Even if we have to meet up in the garden, it would be great to welcome you to my home!! I can probably see your in-laws house from here - unless they live on the Llandudno side of the Little Orme... I have a great view of the houses over in Penrhyn Bay
God bless.

Your watercolour doodles are fantastic, Caro. I love CeeCee and often watch her lovely videos. When I get back in the studio again I must do some more of these doodles. I particularly like how you've made some of the series look like looking through a window. Lovely!

That picture of you and Alex is extraordinary - I'd never really noticed it before, but doesn't he look like you! The same smile! I must say you look slightly less cold this week in the water but I'm still highly amused at the idea of someone swimming in a beanie hat to keep warm! Too funny.

Thank you for your lovely comment. The cat throw has been a pleasure and fun to do from the very first stitch. I shall be quite sad when it's finished, but glad as well - I can't wait to give it to my hubby now.

When I was going to my Hebrew classes our teacher would give us loads of little snippets of information like the almond tree reference. So much is lost in translation! A lot of what we read really makes no sense in English. I did an amazing study off my own bat a few years ago about the Ark of the Covenant (actually on 3 arks in the Bible) related to the Hebrew word "kaphar" to cover - the insights it opened up were astonishing. Also about Jonah, the dove, Jesus' baptism and the Holy Spirit... the honeybee and the Word of God... I've got notes on all this material if you are interested. I love this kind of study.

Happy WOYWW and God bless,

Oh wow love your water colours - you and Jan have really cracked that!! Lovely to see your happy swim face in the sun - I hope you have many more days like that. Glad Alex is back at school, must be so nice to meet up with friends - a little bit of normal for them. I love your watercoloring! I'm learning a bit about Art Impressions water color stuff and hope to get some time to play. Glad Alex is back in school. I know my granddaughters have been struggling with their lockdowns but the youngest just went back recently. The oldest won't until this fall. I don't shiver as much now seeing your swimming pics.
Thanks for popping by and have a great week. Hope the vaccination goes well.

Great pictures! I love the watercolor designs ~ They would make great cards :)
I didn't get to share with you that you inspired me to go to the gym and get in the pool! I was concerned because of Covid to go back, but they are only allowing 4 people in the pool at a time for 1/2 an hour ~ I was more concerned about the temp. to be honest ~ meanwhile it's probably 70' and your in freezing temps!! hahahaha ~ all that being said, I told myself if you can break ice to swim, I could get in and do a few laps ~ so I did! Thank you for being an inspiration!! Now I need to go at least once a week to make any difference, but one step/lap at a time right?! I was told by a friend that's a nurse that it's better to have some side effects then none that will show that you have a good immune system ~ so I hope your shots go well and that enjoy the rest of your week ~ Love, Karen #29

Hi, Caro!
It really is still Wednesday here! Sorry to be so late.

Aren’t water issues the pits? Still don’t feel fully recovered from our leak in the basement. And I can’t find things!

I do love your cards, the watercoloring. Fun! I didn’t catch CeeCee’s videos. Might take a peek.

Stay safe and well

Happy Wednesday.

Hope the vaccine went well and there are no side effects.
Lovely watercolours, you are tempting me to go to that site as I was delighted with Jan's and now am with your lovely watercolour pictures. What a lovely way to make cards that are different. Bet I end up there!
Glad the weather is picking up for the swimming.
Blessings, Neet 15 xx

Hi CAro, I love your watercolour doodles - I can see the inspiration from CeeCee but you've definitely put your own stamp on them too. I've tried doing those and found it not as easy as it looks, got frustrated and gave up! Hope all goes smoothly with your vaccine - it's a good feeling to have that under your belt I think, definitely light at the end of the utnnel now. Have a good week. Annie C #25

Clearly I am not the only one who has been inspired by LLJ! I've been subscribed to ceecee on youtube for a while but never been brave enough to have a go. I am making it a priority next week as I have a journal that I think will be perfect for watercolour play! I love your samples - they seem so YOU in some way - all those "water"-y colours!

Crazy week, so late..
