WOYWW 605

Welcome back to my blog for the first 2021 edition of What's on your Workdesk Wednesday, hosted as always by the wonderful Julia. Happy New Year everyone, I hope that you are all staying safe and warm.

This is my desk as it was yesterday evening - pretty empty apart from my trusty mug of tea and my journals. From left to right my journals are 1. My prayer/spiritual journal 2. My bullet journal (to do lists, appointments etc) 3. This years diary style journal and 4. last years diary - note the difference in volume due to sticking loads in it!

These are some of the most recent pages from my diary.  At the back of the diary are a lot of blank pages which can be used for planning, notes, decorating etc. I have nearly finished most of them in last years journal so will do a flick through video in a few weeks when they are complete.

This is a brief insight into my bullet journal set up. This journal has a page per date and I add a little bit of decoration to each page, have a to do list, an events section, an exercise section (to try and encourage me to exercise more!) and a thankfulness section.

I am still swimming regularly and had two of the most magical swims of my life over the past week. This was on New Years Eve and was my first ever ice swim. Water temperature ~2.5 degrees, air temp 0 degrees, but the air was so still it didn't feel as cold. It was such a thrill!

This was like swimming in Narnia, another truly beautiful swim. Air temp 1degree, water temp 2.3 degrees. Magical!

I will finish this rather picture heavy post with a picture of sunrise yesterday, the first day of our third lock down here in the UK.  I could almost see it from my desk, and ended up running up the road in my slippers to get this shot.  We need to remember that after the night comes the day, after the dark comes the sun, light defeats the darkness and we can have hope that we will eventually get through this - we just need to hang on in there and support each other through these challenging times.  If there is anything I can do for anyone, please just shout. Take care and stay safe,

With love & God Bless,
Caro

I don't know what is more inspiring - your clean desk (me too this week!) or your lovely bujo (and I envy your sticktoitivness with that) or your continued cold-water swimming despite the drop in temperature or that glorious sunrise that makes me think all will be well with the world one day.

Truly a great start to my day.
Happy WOYWW 2021!

I love that photo of you with the sheet of ice. Reminds me what a super woman you are. I have just explained to my other half about your swimming and he was amazed.
Amazing journals and the look through was so good.
Thank you for the lovely photo at the end, such beauty that is there for us to enjoy in our surroundings, and it costs nothing to see.
Happy New Year to you, stay safe and well,
Hugs, Neet 17 xx

Sorry I didn't get to leave messages last week [I did read all my favourite blogs though]. Thankfully the side effects from my injection have just about worn off now [it's taken all week though :-(].
I love all your diaries....well done you to keep them up to date. I really enjoy all your shares of your wild swimming too but I have to say just the thought of them takes my breath away....brrrrrr.
Stay safe and well.
Hugs,

Thanks for your encouragement Caro. Blogging is a great resource during these times. As is journaling. I’ve bought my daughter a couple of different journal and together we’re bravely adding colour to the blank pages. Love your ideas for a spiritual journal, I might use that too. Hugs, Sue. #21 xx

Next shot will be you swimming with icebergs! How wonderfully crazy! I'm sure it's all good for you and I admire your resilience! Wonderful journal too - I know how much discipline and dedication it takes to keep on top of these daily chronicles with a photo for each but it will be such a beautiful keepsake for years to come. I often read my blog posts from previous years and remember the events with fondness - but you can hold your memories in your hands! Love the chunkiness of that finished journal! Stay safe, Caro and keep swimming! xx zsuzsa #26

Oh my! Ice swimming! Brave lady... I don't swim unless it's an indoor pool (not much of that going on at the mo) and the thought of risking thermal shock.... brrrrrr.

Love your journals - I can never keep that sort of thing up for long!

Happy WOYWW!

Ice swimming - BONKERS although the Narnia angle does have some appeal. Adore your lake photo, so tranquil.

Great journals! I still shake my head each time I see one of your cold water swimming pictures. I won't even step into my shower until the glass is foggy with steam vapors, but YOU GO GIRL!

I absolutely love the photo of those icy branches dipping into the water...beautiful!

Be safe and stay "cold"!

You are so faithful in keeping up your lovely diary, Caro - well done! Nice to see it bulging with so much stuck in it. As for the swimming pics, you have confirmed my worst fears re the ice. Now I have proof. You really are MAD lol lol!!! I get what you say about swimming in Narnia, though - really magical.

Happy WOYWW and God bless,

I take my hat off to you Caro - nothing seems to stop you from swimming! I did wonder when I clicked on your link, whether there would be a swimming photo - but one with ice?? I've joined the 'journal' club, but only have one journal, and it will cover everything, whatever takes my fancy. Have a lovely week, Heather xx #14

Beautiful photos and well done on keeping up the swimming. My daughter is still working with her personal trainer outdoors in multiple layers of clothes. Take care.

Perfect sunrise and perfect word to go with it Caro, thank you! I love the line up of journals. I realise that your ability to size and print the photos yourself is a skill that I really need to acquire. I feel a zoom lesson with a child coming on...!!

Hi Caro! I admire, but don't envy, you swimming with the ice. Brrrr! I really don't know how you can do it! Your journals are awesome, it's nice to see another way to do a Bujo, as I am just learning and copying others at this point until I find my own style. Your diary is nicely chock full of photos, this will be wonderful to look back on! Have a wonderful week! Lindart #35

Thanks for your comment, Caro, and I'm glad you enjoyed your visit. Your House of Lords jigsaw sounds an absolute nightmare! I never do jigsaws but we were given this one for Christmas so I felt obliged, and it was quite fun! It wasn't very easy though. I'm afraid I've had a disaster with the blender - more news on Wednesday!
