WOYWW 630

Running late on the blogging front today, but was determined to join in with the fun that is What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday hosted by the lovely Julia.

Here is my desk as it was about 30 minutes ago... a mug of tea on the go, the order of service outline in progress (I am leading in church on Sunday so need to co-ordinate everything), my little note pad with a to do list on it, my camera sat on my laptop, and to the left a new index card box. The reason for the new box is that I have decided (rather late in the day) to join in with the index card a day challenge which runs through June and July.

Here are my 28 index cards so far - so I've nearly caught up! The idea is to do a piece of art on an index card every day for 61 days - the reality for me is that I do it in fits and starts when I have time. It's a good way to play with different media and ideas and to try out new techniques.

Thank you for you good wishes for our wedding anniversary, Tim and I celebrated with a lovely meal out at a restaurant in Sheffield called Brocco Kitchen. I have been playing with my new camera since then, but will have to share the photos next week as they are still on the camera rather than on my computer! I hope you are all keeping well. Stay safe and Take care,

With love & God Bless,

Caro

WOYWW 629 (and our 20th wedding anniversary)

Ok, so better late than never for joining in with What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday courtesy of the lovely Julia

Here is my desk in chaos this morning as for our wedding anniversary, this morning Tim gave me a new waterproof camera plus a lot of accessories! I will have fun playing with this on my swim later. So on my desk is a large mug of tea, my laptop, ipad, the camera and loads of accessories (the random looking red thing is a floating handle - I have my doubts that it will stay afloat given the weight of the camera, but will be testing it in the bath!)... my various journals are also hiding on the desk.

I have done very little crafting this week (I had a sermon and a service to prepare) but did manage to make this card for Tim, although I was very cross with myself when I spotted the mistake (after I had given it to him!).

I am still swimming, on occasion joined by Alex, and am loving all the nature round us. Work is picking up again, but I have the day off today  and Tim and I are off out for a special meal to celebrate 20 years of us.  I will leave you with a few photos of our wedding...

We look so young... I hope you all have a lovely week, Take care and stay safe.

With love & God Bless,
Caro

WOYWW 628

Welcome back to my blog for another edition of What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday courtesy of the lovely Julia.  I apologise for being missing in action for a few weeks, but life went a bit mad.  I did manage to get to my Mum's and see her and my brother and his family, and since getting back I had a streaming summer cold then work and church activities exploded.

Here is my desk as it is this morning - all set up for work with my diary and bullet journal sat in front of it, and my trusty mug of tea.

I have done a little crafting in the form of getting my journal up to date, but that's all I have had time to do.

The time at Mum's was truly wonderful - sun and laughter and hugs with the family. These are just a few of the photos showing how special it was. I will keep it short today, so take care everyone and stay safe.

With love & God Bless,
Caro

WOYWW 625

Welcome back to my blog for another edition of What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday hosted by the lovely Julia. I can't believe we are nearly at the end of what has been a pretty damp and cold May.

My desk is covered in lovely crafting goodness from the wonderful WOYWW tribe as part of the annual ATC swap. To the right you can see my mug of tea pushed to the back of the desk and various pens used in my journal over the past couple of days. I've barely done any crafting at all this week so will just show the lovely goodies I've been sent.

This is a close up of the ATCs I have received to date; Top row is Jan, Jo, Helen and Neet; Second row is Debbie, Annie, Mary Anne and Sylvia; and bottom row is Lynne, Diana, Zsuzsa and Angela.  How gorgeous are they all and so different.  You are all so talented and I am indeed blessed.

These are the various things that came with them including postcards (handmade and bought), handmade cards, a wonderful poem by Lynne, and some ATC holders, stickers and toppers as well as a wonderfully decorated envelope. Thank you all so much.

This week the weather has been very mixed, with rather a lot of wind and rains, so it has been a jobs sort of week (Alex's much needed hair cut, stripping wall paper etc) in addition to working.  I have managed a few swims (two in the rain!) and my friend took this photo of me with her new waterproof camera in a rare moment of sun. The trees are going green again and it looks lovely.

That's all from me for now... I will finish with a bit of good news - I have had my second COVID vaccine and all being well (we are regularly testing) Alex and I will be going to Mum's on Friday where, hopefully, we will see my brother and his family for the first time in nearly a year. I really hope it happens.

Take care and stay safe,

With love & God Bless,

Caro

WOYWW 624 (12th year Anniversary!)

Welcome back to my blog for the 12 year anniversary of WOYWW (What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday) hosted brilliantly and lovingly by the wonderful Julia, Queen of the Desks. I originally joined this happy gang just after the 1st anniversary and had a four year hiatus in the middle before returning, and I do love the fun and warmth of the weekly desk hop around the world.

Here is my desk as it looked yesterday (today it is a work desk so just laptop on it).  You can see my two main journals (the one on the left is a bullet journal, the one on the right my general journal) and various pencils and pens as I update them.  Towards the back you can see my mug of tea (nearly empty), and a postcard and ATC that arrived from Jan. At the very back of my desk is a large envelope containing a card of a local scene (couldn't locate a postcard, this was the next best thing), and an ATC and various little bits for my swap person this week.  My ATCs to all other agreed swaps have now gone in the post.

This is the close up of Jan's lovely postcard and ATC. Isn't her watercolour beautiful!

Crafting wise this week I have finished my ATCs (I will show them another time so they are a surprise for the recipients) and got my diary up to date so here are the diary pages.

The weather has been insane so I have swum in both rain and shine (I managed to avoid the hailstorms), with this place being the most magical swim this week (moody and overcast). Especially as once I got out of the water a family of goslings came swimming gently by.

I had to leave you with this hilarious photo of me doing my best impression of a mermaid in rather murky water! Happy Anniversary everyone...here's to another 12 years! I look forward to when we can celebrate together in person. Take care and stay safe,

With love & God Bless,

Caro

WOYWW 623

Hello and welcome back to my blog on a surprisingly sunny morning after the most incredible Thunderstorm last night. It is time for another edition of What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday, hosted by the lovely Julia.

So here is my desk... I was in the middle of making my Mum's birthday card.  You can see peg stamps, ink pads, my nearly empty mug of tea (it was late last night), pritt stick, and scissors.

This is the resultant card...Can I confess to not feeling at all inspired about this one, but I thought the image looked like her little dog JJ. The reason for my lack of mojo is that the house is in chaos as the electricians still haven't finished and the central heating company have been pulling up carpets and floorboards left, right and centre.  It is a nightmare but we will get there in the end, I just don't know when!

I have escaped the chaos to both go for a run and a swim or two, and even managed to make a start on my ATCs for next week's anniversary so if you would like one please let me know in the comments and send me your address to carostaton (at) gmail (d0t) com. They will go in the post next Wednesday.

That's all from me for now. I will leave you with this photo of a Tawny Owl who likes to sit in this spot on a tree near a primary school in Sheffield. Do take care everyone and stay safe,

With love & God Bless,
Caro

WOYWW 622 (I think!)

Having been missing in action for a couple of weeks it is time to welcome you back to my blog for another edition of What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday by the lovely Julia.

Here is my desk as it was last night - in a rare and happy moment of crafting while trying to get my diary up to date.  I am still three weeks behind, but getting there!  You can see my nearly empty mug of tea, the diary, pen, and transfers I am using.

Here are the latest two pages showing Easter, Alex's birthday and our trip to Mum's in Somerset.

The reason I have been missing for the past two weeks is that we have been having a full house re-wire (this picture gives some idea of the destruction) and I have spent every evening after work cleaning and tidying so we can sleep and eat.  The mess has been unbelievable (they finish on Friday hopefully), and next week, to add to it all, we are having a new central heating system put in!

Due to all the cleaning and tidying I haven't managed to swim during the weeks, but I have had some lovely swims at the weekends - this was on Saturday - a beautiful swim with a friend (9 degrees in the water, 8 degrees out!).  That's all from me for now - short and hopefully sweet.  Do take care everyone.

With love & God Bless,

Caro
