Big Boy Bed!

Alex's big excitement is the fact that he now has a big boy bed, which just squeezes into his tiny bedroom.  He is so pleased with it, climbing in and out and enjoying the novelty of lots of space.  It is great to see him so happy with it...he especially likes the Disney Cars douvet cover and pillowcase, although he refuses to sleep under the douvet, prefering to sleep lying on top of it!  Funny boy! All we need now is a Cars poster for the wall and he will be in seventh heaven!
I am trying to get us to do some things as a family over the summer despite Tim's illness so this weekend we went on a little trip out to Bolsover Castle where Alex had a great time running round and exploring,
fighting with the little foam swords that we bought and generally enjoying himself.  It was lovely to see him so happily exploring.
I just loved the architecture and the views.  You can really see why they built the castle at this location.
I have had a scrapbooking weekend as well which has been nice.  The first layout followed Pencil Lines sketch 195, which I thought was quite fun and different.  I used Crate paper, K&Co papers and Doodlebug Alphabet stickers.  The title of the page is 'Concentrate' and the journalling, which is in a speach bubble, reads 'Quiet! I 'm reading the newspaper (well, looking at the pictures of cars really!)'.
The next layout followed the clean and simple sketch from No time to stamp and fits with Crazy 4 Challenges 'buttons' and Lots to do 'stitching' challenges.  The title of the page is '2 Cheeky boys' and the journalling reads 'Alex and Andreas had fun playing on the 'pirate ship' swing and in the igloo tent on a sunny, but freezing cold afternoon in early March, 2010'.
Finally I made this layout which follows this weeks ScrapFIT challenge which is to scraplift a design from their DT.  This layout is a scraplift from LJ's We Rock layout, albeit changed in terms of some of the colours etc.  This layout fits with  Pollycraft's bold and bright theme and also uses a digital stamp (Live Music) and so fits with the Stamp something theme. The title of the page is 'Grin' and the journalling reads 'Alex, Sam & Tom playing Granny's guitar. March 2010'. I can't take credit for this photo as it is one of Jenny's, but I have to say it is one of the nicest of the three cousins together. As usual, I would love to know what you all think.  Have a great week ahead.
Love,
Caro

OMGoodness, the big boy's bed already! I can't believe it. So pleased he's enjoying it.

I have a nephew who lives at Bolsover but have never visited him there and didn't even know there was a castle! Love the layout pages.
