Flue!

Why is it that I am only ever ill at really inconvenient times?  I have come down with nasty flue like symptoms (high temperature, aching joints, freezing one moment, boiling the next etc) and have had the day spent in bed.  It would be on the day that Alex's 'big boy bed' arrived so I wasn't able to build it for him before his bed time. So annoying.  I really hope that I am better tomorrow. As it is Wednesday today I have posted these pictures of my rather messy work desk as part of WOYWW.  This is my desk after completing a scrapbook page. The papers and stickers are mostly Basic Grey Archaic and you can see my craft knife, PVA glue, pritt stick etc, and of course, the inevitable cup of tea.  It is rare to see my desk without tea on it LOL!
Towards the back of the desk you can see some ink pads, stickers, a punch and embossing tool that haven't been put away from a previous crafting project.
Only my shelves have the vague semblance of tidiness today and there are still things on there which need properly putting away...maybe one day LOL!!
Crafting wise I have spent much of the past few days making this box (this is the top) and the card inside. It is for one of the ladies at work who is leaving at the end of the month.I kept the box simple and elegant.
This is the handbag card that goes inside it. I didn't follow any template prefering to make it up myself and I have to say it was a real challenge to get it to stand up (I promise you that it does!). I stamped the background with inkadinkado stamps and distress ink and used flowers and brads with pink embroidery thread to make a clasp for the bag. As I have never made anything like this before I would love to know what you think.
I also made this scrapbook page following this weeks Practical Scrappers sketch and it fits with their embossing challenge (I embossed the stars with swiss dots). I had fun splodging paint all over the background of the page and the papers I used are all from the Basic Grey Archaic range.  The title of the page is from this weeks song at Scrap it with a song; 'So happy together' and the journalling reads 'Alex and Daniel are always so happy to see each other and play together, especially with trucks, diggers, tractors etc in Grandma's huge garden. They did get somewhat soaked from lying on the damp lawn and splashing in puddles. 3rd April 2010'. This page also fits with the sketches {by Tamara} challenge which was to use staples, stars and rub-ons on a layout.  I have never used staples in my crafting before but I do like the effect so will have to remember this for future layouts. Finally as the two boys were playing in the garden this fits with PTW's 'in the garden' challenge.  That is all for now. Have a great rest of the week everyone.
Love,
Caro

Poor Caro - hope you feel better really quickly - it's so difficult to be ill when you're busy, just makes me resent the waste of time! I'm a big fan of those BG papers and elements, you are a good girl to be using them! Love the handbag, am sure your colleague will be really pleased.
