Welcome to the Wednesday desk hop hosted by Julia.
My desk this week has actually seen some action - although sadly only on one day because I have been busy rehearsing for the murder mystery play this weekend. We are putting it on as a church social and it should be really good fun - I am playing the part of the substitute vicar. Here I am in the middle of messing with paints in my journal, with the paints, pain pens, water jar, and my faithful mug of tea all in evidence on the desk
The idea behind this was to not have a plan just to mess around with different simple marks and practice my brush work because I always make a mess when trying to do neat brushing. It was a very therapeutic 45 minutes just sat painting with no plan and netflix on in the background.
The other fun from this week was the fact that Alex and I bought an Ikea shark, which he named Bill. Bill has made himself very comfortable around the house and provided much fun and entertainment to us both. Gran is still in respite but is now at last having some decent physio... the only real thing stopping her from going home now is fear so hopefully she will make the decision to go home soon.
Thanks for visiting. Take care this week.
With love and God Bless,
Caro

I immediately thought of Bill the shark being the all year round version of the elf on a shelf Caro. He's certainly been getting around lol. Love the background on your journal, the brushwork practice is paying off already. Happy WOYWW. Sarah #4
Hope the murder mystery goes well, oh substitute vicar! It's good to see you've had time to relax with your journal too. Thanks for stopping by. Helen #1
LOL, I was trying to identify the shark from the thumbnails - I couldn't decide what it was! That's something we used to do with my son's toys too - it brings back fun memories! Lovely pattern play - sometimes it's fun to just let go of expectations! The murder mystery sounds fun too - good thing you're not the victim and I'm thinking - since it's a church production - you, as the substitute vicar, wouldn't be the murderer either - unless you're a fake vicar, of course! Enjoy your week and thanks for visiting! zsuzsa #17
Hi Caro. Great shark!! - To begin with I thought it was a muppet puppet in the making - going to be a nun!!! - but then realised what t was as you explained - oops. Great fun painting in your journal - glad you so enjoyed it. Well, along with Zsuzsa, I trust you won't end up as the murderer - I love murder mysteries - usually on TV or DVD - give me a good Midsomer or Father Brown any day! Have a great time at the event.
Take care. God bless.

Hi Caro! What fun, both the Murder Mystery and a full 45 minutes of playing with paints! Hugs, Kim
Hi Caro! I know its late and I'm getting a bit tired, but I really think I need some new glasses. I was looking for the shark but all I could see was some very strange nuns. Sorry, I am still giggling to myself. Bedtime methinks. Great paint work. Sounds relaxing. Happy Wednesday, Cindy #20
Love the shark but until you said that's what it is I thought it was a little man. Hope you enjoy the weekend, sounds like fun. Have a lovely creative week and a happy woyww, Angela x12x
Oh this weekend will be fun, nothing like a murder mystery. Am not at all surprised that you’ve been a bit pushed for desk time, especially with a new shark to accomodate too! Thanks for the smiles, and I’m glad to hear about Gran...relief relief.
I really like the bright colours and patterns of your mindfulness painting, it's something that I'm bad at doing, my crafting always has a end purpose in sight. I'm very bad at relaxing into something, with the exception of knitting I suppose. The shark made me laugh! Good luck with your murder mystery, I've done a few and really enjoyed them!

HI Caro, it looks like Bill is having lots of fun without you guys watching in those shots haha that is very funny. :) hopefully your gran is able to go home soon. ~Stacy #26
Your random page is awesome, so bright and happy! And Bill looks quite happy too, now that you gave him a forever home! Thanks for your visit, and have a great (white) week! Lindart #27

Have fun with the play.
Glad gran is doing better. Hope she gets home soon and with the help she may need, her confidence grows.

I could do with a relaxing paint session without thinking, just 'mark making'... I seem to have lost my mojo last week and am desperately seeking it... I might do a page like that to draw her back in ;) Thanks for stopping by my blog the other day, happy ~ belated ~ woyww. Hug from Holland, Marit #16
I thought your shark was someone bandaged up when i first looked at the photos. Made me smile when i found out what the photos were.
That is a great idea to just sit and put marks on pages and let the world wash over you - must give it a try some time.
Good luck with the substitute vicar role - any photos for us to see?
Hugs, Neet xx
Hi Caro, brilliant idea to practise brush strokes like that looks great , love the various shark poses by Alex.. fun plus!
Happy very very belated WOYWW, Shaz in Oz. X
