WOYWW 571

Hello and welcome back to another edition of lockdown What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday!  Don't know what I am talking about?  Then head over to head desker Julia to find out more...
Here is my desk as it was on Monday evening in the midst of making a Birthday Card for my Mum.  She prefers clean and simple designs so I masked a card and sponged distress ink onto the background before stamping the images and words on.  On my desk you can see stamps, distress inks, and my enormous Scooby Doo mug (it holds a litre of tea).
Here is the finished card.

This week's creativity has involved starting work on a long standing WIP for the Anniversary next week so I wont show that yet. Instead I thought I would show you the other creative thing I have been doing; re-creating famous pieces of artwork with things around the house. The Teddy with the Pearl earring and the Kandinsky are my favourites.

I will leave you with some different walk pictures this week - I drove about 3 miles from our house to enable us to do this 5 mile walk up from Redmires Reservoirs to Stanage Edge.  It was wonderful to be out on the edge again even though it was rather windy!
I really hope that you all stay safe and well and have a good week. You are all in my thoughts and prayers regularly.
With love & God Bless
Caro

That is my type of card - I love the classic clean and simple cards although i don't think they are "simple" to do.
Had already seen and commented on your 'artistic' pictures, I like you with your hair tied up, really suits you.
Gosh you and Alex have some energy doing all those activities, bet it was lovely to have all that fresh air and the wind blowing through your hair. Love you you keep yourself so active and so so much with hyour son.
God Bless
Neet xx (too early for a number)

Brilliant card Caro. I love everything about it. The recreations of the paintings are rather fun. I must admit that Teddy with pearl earring is the best! Glad you have managed to get out for some decent walks. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #11

Beautiful card, Caro - I always love those masked inked and stamped ones - I haven’t done any like that for ages. A very clean and elegant look. Your walk pictures are glorious as always. The recreation of famous works of art is such a great idea - we have been watching “Grayson's Art Club” on Ch.4 and enjoying it immensely (have you been following this?) and in Week 1 on Portraits there were lots of fun examples of this, and in the series there are lots of other weird and wonderful examples of what various people are doing to keep themselves entertained during the lockdown! Such fun, and so creative.

Happy WOYWW,

Your Reconsturctions of the famous pics made me smile a lot - Ted with a pearl earring is my fav! I can't imagine drinking a litre of tea, I'd be running to the loo all day, lol! You've all been coping so well in the lockdown, it can't have been easy.

Morning Caro. Thought I recognised Stanage Edge - although it is years since I was last up there! A great place to walk. You have been let out!!! We haven't yet - we are not supposed to take our car specifically for exercise, only go out from our house on foot or cycle. There was even mutterings about guarding the border on the tv the other day - but that wasn't the Welsh Assembly, it was the papers giving opinions!! I love your card - I'm a simple girl myself, and like the cards I make to be straightforward too. Great fun art work copies!!! My eldest grand daughter became the Lady of Shallot the other week!
Take care. Stay safe. God bless.

I smiled when I saw that mug - but I think it would always be half-full of cold tea! Little and often is more my style. The fine art recreations are a real hoot - you must have had fun doing that! There are a few around and they always make me smile. What an amazing landscape to walk in - hope you didn't get too battered by the wind! Stay well, stay safe, Happy WOYWW Cindy #24

Ah your photos remind me of my happy years at Sheffield - those hills are so close and perfect for blowing away the cobwebs at this time! AND Ted with the pearl earring is definitely my favourite too. A great idea so cleverly accomplished - well done all. Stay safe. xx Jo

I love the card, it's beautiful and elegant. I love CAS but it's so hard to do, I always make a smudge at the last minute or go on and add just that one extra thing that tips the balance and makes it fussy!
Your recreations are brilliant - they look fun to do and I love the teddy in the pearl earring too, so funny! Ir reminds me of a gallery of drawings someone did depicting Guinea Pigs in great works of art - they called it the Piggenheim museum.
Lovely pictures of your walk this week,
Stay safe and well,

Really like your "reproductions"! Very clever!
How nice to get out and about! Our areas near us are packed with hikers so we just stay home for the most part.

Oh my life, that Ranage Edge is stunning, it must feel like the top of the world up there! And who knew how useful that giant teddy would become in your artistic endeavours. I love the art interpretations, I think you both have amazing imaginations! Such a pretty card for you Mum too, I’m sure she’ll love it. I just wanna ask how you fit all this into your day if you’re drinking a litre of tea at a time....surprised you don’t have to work from the loo!!

Thank you for your visit, Caro, and sorry for the late reply. It's been a hectic week, but I managed to finish my hubby's teddies card in time for his birthday yesterday! All up on my blog now.

What disasters did your brother have with his kombucha? I've never had any problems with mine and it's always delicious. I am not surprised you don't have much time for experimental cooking - I am always amazed at how much you are able to do in a week!
