WOYWW 570

Another week has run by and it is time for sharing our desks with Julia as part of What's on your workdesk Wednesday. I hope that you are all well and staying safe. We are all fine.
Anyway, here is my desk!  It has a nearly empty mug of tea, my journal, photos printed onto sticker paper, some new washi tape which has just arrived, and a new coaster...
This is the gorgeous coaster that Jo (Twiglet) sent me in a parcel of wool for Alex.  It is of her daughters beautiful felt work and I love it.  Thank you so much.
Here is Alex finger knitting!  The lockdown is quite tough on an only child - he is missing other teenagers so I try and keep things interesting for him with joining in with a variety of challenges including Taskmaster challenges and those set by his scouts troop.
This is the new washi tape that was sat on my desk - I use Washi a lot in my journals and this selection has some lovely patterns, and some gorgeous bling!

I promised last week that I would show some of my recent pages from my journal - these two are the monthly pages

And these are a selection of my weekly pages.

I will finish with a few of my favourite photos from our daily walks this week - including the gorgeous bluebells.  I really hope that you all stay safe and well and have a good week, you are all in my thoughts and prayers regularly.
With Love and God Bless,
Caro

Morning Caro. My word, your young man is growing into a smasher! He'll be breaking hearts before you know it! Finger knitting - what will Alex do with it once he has a huge long length! I see it wrapped as a scarf... How ever do you keep up with those journals? So much goes on in your life - makes me feel old and weary! Great pictures of your walks.
Take care of yourselves. Stay safe. God bless.

Lovely pics of your walks! Alex is doing so well, it's a tough time to be a teen and you're doing an incredible job too. I'm pleased that you got some lovely new washi tape, honestly it's the littlest things that bring joy eh - your journal will be even more beautiful. And that Twiglet is one of the most generous people I know, she's gorgeous.

Morning Caro, I guess you are having to be best, friend, mum and teacher for Alex - I'm sure you are doing a great job! Those washi tapes look lovely, though I must confess I don't find I use them very often. Lovely walk photos - its great to be able to get out isn't it? ! Happy WOYWW, stay safe, stay well, Cindy #18

Hi Caro, what a lot of gorgeous photos. It must indeed be hard for Alex, but he always has a smile when we see him in photos! Great selection of washi tape, not something I've really got in to, I must admit. Have a lovely week, Stay safe, Hugs, Shaz #8 X

What a cool journal Caro. Love all the mini photos. The new Washi tape and coaster is gorgeous too (recognised the artist immediately). Hope Alex enjoys his finger knitting. If you want to get him trying other challenges he could have a go at the Quarantine Quickie prompts over on Mission Inspiration. They are the ones I have been using for my tags. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #5

Hi Caro, that's a beautiful coaster from Jo, and some gorgeous rolls of washing tape. Where do you buy such a bumper pack? I can imagine it getting harder to find more creative ways to occupy Alex, the longer this goes on. My granddaughter (just turned 4) is an only child, for now, and has told her parents she is fed up of them and wants to see some new people. She is missing nursery, and her friends, cousins, grandparents, etc. Your journaling looks great. Love the monthly pages. Have a lovely week and stay safe and well, Heather xx #20

The coaster is gorgeous! And seeing Alex knit is cool. I never tried the finger style but then I haven't knitted or crocheted for 40 years! Love your journal pages.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Knowing you caro I'm sure you will have no problem keeping Alex busy but I understand that at his age he needs his friends around him and it's a difficult time. I have to say the felted coaster is an absolute delight. Thanks for your kind thoughts too. Wishing you a rather late but happy woyww and a lovely crafty week, Angela x21x

When we first moved into our present home we had a huge patch separating two garden areas at the back full of bluebells. It used to be farmland and I think we are built where the wood was. Sadly we don't have so many ow but we still do have a lot - not that we have done anything to them, I think they are a protected species.
How tall is Alex, he looks quite tall and it is something I have often thought about.
Love your coaster, your washi tape (especially the one with little houses), and the journal pages. They look so interesting.
I think you do a marvellous job keeping your son occupied, you are a wonderful mother and have worked so hard with him these past few weeks, I am sure many others would have flagged by now.
Stay safe and well - Blessings, Neet 4 xx
ps I have commented on two blogs prior to this and both of them I thought I was commenting on yours. The first did not ring true to your wording so I realised and amended, the second I posted! And then explained and apologised in another comment . Think I need to go to bed.
Hugs, xx
PPS I loved your sermon and passed on to a friend who also loved it - thanks x

Yes, the kiddos are having a hard time with all this isolation. My granddaughter has so many Zoom meetings so she is still virtuallly communicating with her classmates. Have a wonderful week. Dorlene #33

Oh Caro all your photos are simply beautiful. The English countryside is soothing to the soul. Your journal looks like a perfect size to keep thoughts, plans, notes and events all documented and that size makes it achievable. Love the washi tape such pretty colours and patterns. Have a safe week and well done for keep your teenager occupied without having to resort to screens (I know they do anyway). But lovely to see he is open to trying out something different. Stay safe.

Hey Caro, glad to see you about, I think you win at Lockdown for sure, you’ve been busier than ever! I love the idea of printing the photos in little formats on sticker sheets! you can tell I’m not a journal keeper can’t you, that surely would be an obvious thing your washi tape makes me swoon, but I don’t use it. That which I have is in a box with other stash to remind me to use it. It seems to me that it’s perfect again, for journal keeping, but somehow out of proportion for 12” scrapbook papers. I’m not sure.....and gosh, your weeks and months are so busy. I wonder if it’s a slow down and a sort of catharsis to write about it and make it pretty. It will be so lovely for Alex to have them when he’s raising his own family!
I forgot to say on the post about the Anniversary, if you’re going to take part in the UFO challenge for week 572, don’t forget to take a ‘before’ photo to go with the ‘progress’ or ‘after’ photos for the post!

Hi Caro, your coaster is beautiful, a lovely present. Love your journal pages, do you print the photographs every day? When ever I use Washi tape it seems to unpeel itself, so I have started putting glue underneath. I can’t seem to get into a routine with my journal, but then am not good with anything organised. Lovely photographs of your walk, I do love to see a mass of bluebells. You were very right about me being stressed and upset, In fact I have been unwell the last few days and I am sure it was due to last week! Stay safe, Angela #30

Good Morning Caro, oh I am loving your outdoor photos, peeped at last weeks also. We had about 6 days of good weather scattered in 2 weeks. This week it's cool 50's, rain and cloudy. Sat could freeze which won't be good for the corn crop peeping through the ground. During these times Sunshine and warmth gets me through. More things are opening and getting on with life. I'm holding back and waiting til the rush is over. My you and yours stay safe and enjoy time.thanks for the visit

Love love love the washi tape selection. I have just had to chuck out half of my collection as it had all died on the rolls, it's been a while (years) since I really crafted big time. Your son is such a cutey too, mine is 21 but I think the same of him LOL.
Thanks for the visit and sorry I'm so late replying BJ#2

Oh Caro what a beautiful post... To me, there is nothing more beautiful than a beech wood in spring with a carpet of bluebells underneath. Yet again, this year, I have not had the opportunity to see one, so your photos are a real blessing. Your journal is amazing - a real work of art! And what fabulous washi tapes. Washi isn't something I use but seeing that little lot, I am tempted! Where on earth did you find such gorgeous ones? I think they are the nicest I've ever seen. Poor Alex - I can understand how hard it must be for him in the lockdown, not being able to mix with kids his age, but you are doing such an amazing job and giving him real quality time.

Thank you for visiting - so glad you like my cards and drawings. I haven't a clue yet what I am going to do with the teabags! I was just playing.

Happy belated WOYWW and God bless,
Shoshi x #7

Sorry for the late visit don't know where the days go to. Thanks for your visit. It is hard trying to be everything to your son. My daughterinlaw is having the same problem, and one night my grandson sneeked out and the police brought him home, you can imagine her surprise, Love your journals do you find washi tape loses its adhesive or perhaps it is because I live in Spain and adhesives don't last long. Stay safe Ani #11

Hi Caro
I'm so sorry to be very late visiting this week. The beautiful weather distracted me.
Your journals are amazing, what a brilliant way to document your life. Mine tend to be all about the photos and just a bit of writing, I get very self conscious.
You look like you are keeping your young man entertained. It's so hard on them without their friends isn't it. Mine is 19 and missing her friends dreadfully but chats online constantly. She seems quite happy with us oldies and has lots of hobbies like me so we are very lucky.
I hope you are enjoying your week, those bluebells are gorgeous.
Take care

Sorry for my (very) late visit, time seems to speed even in lockdown! I love seeing your journals, reminds me of my own Chronicles. I never tried fingerknitting myself, I had the idea to make a big blanket from very thick wool, 'armknitting', but when I calculated what the weight of such a blanket would be, I decided not to do that... my hubs and I would almost crush laying under it! Have a nice week dear one, stay safe! Love from Holland. Marit #25
