WOYWW 578

Another week, another Wednesday and it is time to show you my desk again as part of the WOYWW phenomenon hosted by Julia.
Here is my desk in all its messy glory while messing around with the new acrylic inks... I still haven't a clue about what I am doing with them but I am having fun getting very messy!
These are the index cards that i made this week using them. What you can't really see is how glossy the bottom two are as I used the pouring medium with them.
That is literally all the crafting I have managed this week - I have been crazy busy juggling work and homeschooling, and church related activities.
I have been taking time to look after my mental health and managed to swim every day this last week (apart from Monday which was chucking it down and blowing a gale!). This was taken in the old reservoir in a park in Sheffield yesterday evening.
My favourite place, though, is this plunge pool, which is popular with teenagers who love to jump in and I have been very lucky in managing to have it to myself a few times.
I love to swim against the current looking up at the light coming through the trees or to stand under the waterfall, and have had a few socially distanced swims with friends.   Alex meanwhile has been having much needed socially distanced fun with friends in the park.  Teenagers really do need social interaction with their peers for their mental health.  That's all from us.  Short and sweet as Julia likes it.  I do hope you are all keeping well.  Take care and stay safe,
With love and God Bless,
Caro

He’s a good lad isn’t he. I know there are moments..even hours, but look at him studying, what an angel! And yes I agree, he needs social interaction (in the flesh, so to speak), probably more than us mature types. If only to give them a break from the mature types! Those acrylic inks look fabulous. However messy, the results are great, very pleasing indeed. SO glad you’re able to make a bit of time for swimming, It strikes me that in your busy life you absolutely MUST carve out time for something you love. And that’s very cold, obviously!

Well done all of you for coping so well in these weird times - I'm pleased that Alex has been able to hangout with mates and that you've managed some me time in your busy busy life. The wild swimming looks amazing, I love the plunge pool and little waterfall. You may like to wander over to my blog, you may see something to make you happy!

Goodness I bet that water was lovely in that hot weather, although busy once the day got going. I really feel for the people who swam a lot before (in a pool) and are unable to still with no sign of that changing. The inks look fabulous - there really is nothing like playing with paints and inks is there?!
Have a lovely week, Lisa-Jane #15

Morning Caro. Oh my goodness - standing under the waterfall, leaping in - yes, I'm a wuss!! But well done you. Alex looks like he gets down to his school work ok - which is great, and lots of fun being had with his mates. That's brilliant! Lots of messiness being done - but the results look fine... will you decorate them further do you think? Or leave them as is?
Take care. Stay safe. God bless.

In these strange times I think we have all had to find a new routine to get us through. Swimming in such a beautiful spot looks absolutely perfect. Stay safe while you create those beautiful index cards.

Your plunge pool is idyllic and I could look at it all day, week after week, so please include it in your posts many times. I am so glad you are keeping well with all the activities you do and you look so at home in the water, I think you are secretly a mermaid.
Keep enjoying the icads, such beautiful colours - I keep forgetting to show mine.
Blessings & Gentle Hugs, Neet 5 xx

You are so right about youngsters needing to hang out - I worry that all our young folk are missing out on just running, playing and laughing together. I had a lovely walk through Attingham Park with Max and her dog today. Certainly blew the cobwebs away and puts me back on a positive path! xxx Jo

I really love the colours on your cards today....just all my favs.
I think we all need social meet ups to maintain sanity. I'm sure it's what we are all missing the most.

Happy Wednesday!

I got to swim in the sea here last week. I don't know why I hadn't done it before as it's been so hot and the beach is about 200 metres from our house!

Caro I love your posts. First of all you like you are having so much fun in the water. I wish I had somewhere to swim. It looks so refreshing. Now those new acrylics are so vibrant and pretty. I think you did a great job. I have been playing around with my watercolors lately and love looking at the finished pieces. The sun is trying to peek out! We have had rain for 3 days so I think we are due for sunshine.
Stay well!

I love catching up with your wild swimming photos each day, (I can't swim) in such beautiful surroundings. My Saturday walk at Kew did me good too - despite having to use public transport to get there but I have no choice. Glad Alex has been able to meet up with mates again. Helen #1

I'm envious of your water fun. There is none around us as we're in the desert and it is so hot. We might get some rain today. Hope so for the fires northeast of us.
Love your index cards! They look fascinating!
Good for Alex keeping up on his schoolwork.
Have a wonderful week!

Oooh those cards, Caro! They are all goooorrrgeous! Juicy delicious. You may think you don't know what you are doing, but the results speak for themselves! Love 'em. You are doing wonders during the lockdown, home-schooling, church stuff, going swimming and walking with Alex... I love the photos of you splashing about in the water! You do have some lovely places near where you live. I am glad Alex is managing to see his friends a bit too - as you say, so important. I think you've got a pretty good balance going on in your lives, all told.

Thank you for visiting - glad you like the green cardigan! I am so pleased how it's turned out, and that it's finished at last, after 25 years languishing in a box lol! I have decided I am going to redo the bottom ribbing on the black one, though. I shan't feel happy with it till I do. I'm glad you enjoyed seeing the kitties too.

Happy belated WOYWW and God bless,

I am surprised you are allowed to swim in the reservoir and other pools health and safety and all that. I feel sorry for children who have had no interaction with their friends especially the ones that live in apartment blocks here in spain as they have not been allowed out. Ani
