WOYWW582

Well I was missing in action from our weekly desk hop (WOYWW courtesy of Julia) last week because I was in Somerset visiting my Mum for the first time since February!  It was sooo special to see her but more of that later...
Here is my desk as it is today - laptop in evidence as it is a work day so all crafting is tucked away (mostly). You can see my tea, my sports camera and waterproof casing, and at the back of my desk my latest index cards.
Here they are - a complete mix this week using acrylic paints, paint pens, distress oxide sprays, stencils, stamps and collaging. All good fun for a variety.  Needless to say I am still behind on the challenge, but that doesn't really matter!
On our trip to Somerset, Mum very kindly paid for Alex and I to have a surfing lesson which was hilarious - Alex managed to stand up very successfully and pretty reliably by the end of the lesson as you can see here.  I, on the other hand, could reliably get to my knees, and often into a crouch safely enough, but standing was a different matter.  I managed it about three times for no more than a second before total wipeout!  I ached so much afterwards but it was such fun so worth every ache and pain.
This is my favourite photo from the weekend of us all having a picnic in the sand dunes after surfing.
I will finish with some photos of Mum's garden as it is looking stunning.

Loads and loads of Agapanthus because she grows and sells them!

That is all from me for now. I hope that you are all staying safe and well.
With love and God Bless,
Caro

So glad that you had a good visit with your mum Caro. She has an amazing garden indeed. Alex certainly looks like he enjoyed his surf lesson. At least you can say that you have tried it. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #10

I love agapanthus - and of course here in Melbourne they are very common to see around December time. Your photos of your Mum's house are lovely!
Congratulations on the surfing!
Stay safe and keep well!

The surfing looks fun but I am glad it was you and not me. Saw on FB that you had been to see your mum, how lovely that must have been for her and what a simply gorgeous home she has. Love that garden and those flowers - tremendous!
You have just reminded me I never showed my iCads but if I am honest I missed out the last two days so need to get on with those. I finish them on Friday as it was just June and July but I might carry on doing them as I have so many blanks and it is good to make sure I craft a little each day.
Stay safe and well and enjoy life, as you do
Blessings, Neet 3 xx

Hi Caro, what a fabulous garden your Mom has! So many beautiful flowers. Lovely pics of you all by the sea, so nice you were able to visit. Rather you than me attempting to surf, I'd be hopeless, I know. Stay safe, Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #7 X

Your mum's garden is fabulous. Wish we had soil and enough rain but between rocks and cedar trees, nothing but scrub grows.
I never managed to stand up for more than a few seconds while trying to surf. I think it is one of those things you have to practice a lot at, when young!

Hi Caro. Sorry I'm late - the day has been rather full of paint and phonecalls!! Kept getting interrupted every time I tried to come and visit folks. How lovely to go visit and stay(?) with your mum. What a treat for you all. Well done both of you for trying the surfing - sounds a positively maniacal thing to do... A fabulous garden there your mum has - how lovely to spend time in it.
Take care. God bless.

The surfing looks fun but I'm sure I would never manage it though I thought that with the skiing too but practice and fitness helps. You mum has a lovely home ,it must be a real pleasure to live there. Have a lovely crafty woyww, Angela x14x

Your mum lives in a beautiful place - I just love her garden! We have a long way to go before ours looks like that! I still can't believe how much Alex has grown in the last few months - and that photo of the three of you is precious! Happy belated - I was absent last week as well! zsuzsa #23

I'm so glad you were able to get away and visit your mum, Caro - what fun you had! Her garden looks lovely. I love your latest collection of cards. Thank you for visiting, and I'm glad you like my tiny carpets. The new head magnifier is certainly doing its stuff and making things a lot easier as the work is pretty fine. As for the kitties, they do rather steal the show don't they?

Happy belated WOYWW and God bless,

Oh, so taken by your time away I completely forgot what was on your desk!! Oh yes super blue index cards, I think the sea must have influenced those.
Thanks for the visit BJ#11

So nice to have seen your Mum - I've not seen mine since Christmas as she's over 200 miles away and turned 89 a fortnight ago so has been shielding during lockdown. Hopefully we'll get to see her in September.

Love your Mum's garden, it's beautiful...

Sorry I’m late! So so good to see that you’ve been with your Mum, it makes my hear warm. And what fun too, crikey surfing is not for the puny is it! Every time you fall off you end up right on the bottom being dragged around if my memory serves me! You’re right about the Icads, it doesn’t matter about being behind, you’re still doing them and that’s great. A little bit of art a day is as good as an apple!! What a delight your mum’s garden is too, agapanthus are a favourite of mine, so it’s fascinating to see them grown in such numbers!
