WOYWW 609

Hello and welcome back to my blog for another edition of What's on Your Workdesk, hosted by the lovely Julia.  I hope that you are all keeping well and safe and warm.

This is my desk as it was last night. In the process of putting some simple decoration (stickers or transfers and some pen) onto the pages of my bullet journal.  You can see my various stickers and transfer sets, my mug of tea (almost empty), my diary journal and various pens etc scattered around. I haven't actually done much in the way of crafting this week as I have been busy with church related things so there is nothing new to show you I'm afraid.

This weekend I counted up and realised that I had swum 20 times in January with water temperatures ranging from 1.6 with ice to 5.1 degrees. This was Sunday's swim, totally beautiful and peaceful.

There isn't a lot more to report from here. Alex and I headed out into the snow yesterday afternoon, where he found some friends to have a massive snowball fight with (he is in there somewhere), and I found several of my friends to stand around and talk to - perfect for both of us.

To give the kids a break from online teaching and screens, his engineering teacher set them a challenge, to make an automata from things they had at home.  Alex put the hot glue gun to good use, and without any help from us, created this from cardboard, kebab sticks, straws and sandpaper.  We were really impressed with the trouble shooting to make it all work, the perseverance and the creativity.

I will leave you with this photo of the park where I swim taken on Monday - look at the sun!  I hope you all have a good week. Take care and stay safe.

With love & God Bless,

Caro

OMG I love his automaton! What a great job he did - so handy to have a mom with craft supplies to use.

I cannot WAIT for a full, warm sunny day.

Happy WOYWW to all!

Morning Caro. I am most impressed with Alex's automata - brilliant. Well done, Alex. More swimming, then snowball fights - oh my!! You do have a lovely busy life. I have hardly done anything crafty this week either - was too busy putting together a fortnight schedule of devotions for Lent to Easter! Boy did it take some time. However, the leaders are pleased with the result and are now looking for volunteers to fill out the daily titles and starting points. All (ha ha) I have given them is a title, theme, scriptures and music for each day. Must choose which ones I will be doing myself...
Take care. God bless.

Alex shows real talent with the automaton...I wonder where he gets that from? ;-) I always love to see the grandies helping themselves to my crafty stash and growing in ability to use it all.

What a difference between the 2 photos with the weather!? I was thinking of you this week as my consultant has advised cold water swimming and I just can't do it. I remembered you wearing a hat and wondered how important the submerging was (I wear glasses too) I love adding little stickers and rub-ons etc to my diary - those little pops of colour make all the difference don't they? Stay safe and keep smiling, Lisa-Jane #2

I am really, really impressed with Alex's automaton, Caro! It's fabulous! Nice (I think!!) to see you swimming in your beanie again - although it makes me shiver to watch you! Well done with the bullet journal, and I hope the church doesn't keep you too busy to craft!

Happy WOYWW and God bless,

Thanks for more beautiful nature shots and a freezing shot of you in that cold water! I was already cold and now I can't stop shivering! I am off to get a hot cup of tea!

I am working on my planner, too. I decided to stop that and visit the WOYWW hoppers, just to have a break.

That last photograph is beautiful, what a difference blue sky makes. We didn’t get any snow, which I am sure disappointed a lot of children. Have a great week Angela #17

I'm not surprised it was quiet on Sunday when you went for your swim, most people would be at home in the warm lol! Clever Alex too. Have a lovely creative week and happy woyww, Angela x16x

Thank you for your return visit, Caro. I stand with you in prayer for Shaz and Doug. It's so awful, what is happening. I'm glad you enjoyed the kitty antics this week. When Ruby is getting off my lap, if the laptop is beside me on the sofa, she tends to take a shortcut right across the keyboard! I can't wait to finish these rather tedious kitty squares which take so long to do but I've set myself the task to make 6, and then I should be able to race away to the finish line and complete all 80. I can't wait to start making up the blanket and concentrating on the embellishments.

An equally big well done for you too, Caro, for wild swimming 20 times in Jan. I know I couldn't do it so hats off to you.
