WOYWW 648 (possibly!)

Hello, and welcome back to my blog for another edition of What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday.  Apologies for missing last week, but I was down in Somerset with my family to see Mum (a few photos later). Anyway, you are here to see my desk...

A somewhat busy offering this morning (for me anyway) consisting of a mug of tea, my various journals (bullet journal, main mini diary journal) and a tray of stickers sat on top of various other notebooks.  At the front is my mini book with an on going to do list.

These are a few of my latest journal pages... one is a record of my swims for the various winter challenges I have entered.  This year I have entered the Polar bear silver challenge (swimming 250m twice a month outdoors in only a swimming costume, no neoprene) which is probably going to be the most difficult one.  Last winter I swam using neoprene socks and gloves and a woolly hat which was fine.  The feet and fingers may find lack of neoprene too difficult but I wanted to set myself a new challenge this year. The Antarctic Penguin challenge is to swim 3000 metres each month, but I can use my previous outfit (gloves, socks, hat) so I am more confident of achieving that.

Yesterday's first swim of the challenges. I thought I would finish with a couple of photos from Somerset - Mum's garden looks stunning at anytime of year... photo overload warning!

That's all from me for now. Take care, and stay safe,

With love & God bless,

Caro

My goodness but the boys all look incredibly alike - there’s a strong family resemblance obviously! Your mum’s garden is gorgeous - does she open it for Garden schemes and does she do all the work herself? In which case, kudos to her cos it’s beautiful. Well done for the swimming, it obviously does your mind and body a world of good.

What a glorious garden! And your journal pages are fab, as ever. I wish I could follow your lead but I keep falling off the journal wagon LOL! I love the photos of your son and friends - reminds me so much of my son and his little gang at that age. They grow up so fast....

Happy WOYWW

Love the photos, some of my favourite flower, especially the Nerines.

Gosh the swimming challenges sound "chilly" to say the least but you are well accustomed so I'm sure you'll manage it. Gorgeous flowers and super journals.

Nice to be back at my desk after the trauma of hand surgery, not completely fixed as my wrist is jolly sore and my thumb isn't moving fully yet, could be a few more months but I can do most things again just need to be jolly careful. BJ#15

Your mum's garden looks lovely - does she have a gardener to keep it like that. Lovely array of flowers too.
I am in awe of your accomplishments in the swimming. Wow, you have a hefty challenge ahead but I know you will achieve it. A few prayers and away you go.
Love the journal with the little autumnal things at the bottom of the photo page.
Blessings, Neet 12 xx

You’re right, your Mothers garden is a stunning place, she must love it. So nice to be able to get down to see her, it means that we see the garden in each season! I’m using my bifocals instead of actually whole lens reading glasses and thought at first glance that you had two cups of tea on the go….was worried for a minute that you were in trauma! I’m egging you from the shore or the banks as you know, but any distance with neoprene extremities seems hard..but maybe it will just require less time in the water? Good luck anyway, I don’t doubt your fortitude for sticking it out all winter though, no siree!

I wish you lots of luck with your challenges this winter, they both sound pretty grim but all in all I'd plump for the neoprene extras! What a stunning garden your Mum has - absolutely gorgeous, and still so much colour - I love the Cyclamen under the tree.
Hope you have a good week,

What beautiful photos. I truly love the flowers, we had a long time for ours to bloom our first freeze was 2 days ago, so outside is pretty much history for flowers. I brought in a few and my 3rd yr geranium is doing great inside. Always love your busy activity Stay safe and enjoy that out door time.

HI Caro! What a beautiful garden and English home! Lovely photos! I don't envy you your twice monthly swims without neoprene (actually with or without - not for me!) But good for you for challenging yourself, I hope you are successful! Thanks for your visit, sorry I'm so late...Lindart #23
