WOYWW 666

Welcome to my blog for another edition of what's on your workdesk Wednesday hosted by the lovely Julia.  I don't mind telling you that number made me start a little!

Here is my desk, still not back to normal although things have improved and all the plastering in our study has been completed so it is just sanding and painting and we can put things back.  In the meantime my desk is moving round the room. Today, instead of crafting underway you can see a card game.  I love board games and card games, but Tim and Alex are not so keen, so I now have a small selection of games that can be played solo for whenever I am in the mood.  This one, Sprawlopolis, is my most recent one - at only 18 cards it is fiendishly difficult to beat - I have played it about 12 times and won twice!

I have managed a little crafting over the past two weeks as you can see here... making slow progress on my series of collages.

Since I last wrote we have had pancake day - Alex didn't try flipping a pancake this year but he did make some very nice ones although he insists on putting nutella, golden syrup, sprinkles, marshmallows and chocolate shavings all on the same pancake - soooo sickly!

In the meantime, I have had some lovely swims.  That is all from me for now. Take care and stay safe everyone,

With love & God Bless,
Caro

I’ve made it to the blogs this week ....sometimes life just gets in the way and sadly it was the blogs that had to be neglected last week....sorry.
It sounds like your building work is going well...soon be finished.

Hello smiler!! I always feel a grin coming on when I arrive at your blog, just always smiles to be found here. I love playing board games!! Not so sure I would enjoy playing on my own though - I would find it very frustrating if the family didn't join in as it's the only time they all sit together these days. Decided I need to invest new frying pans - the flipping was not very successful this year!! And yes why do 'kids' have to put so much junk on their pancakes? Loving the collages. Hopefully your swims are getting even more enjoyable as Spring starts to make an appearance. I'm off for a quick walk while the sun is out!! Happy WOYWW, Cindy #20

Hi Caro thanks for visiting me this week. I've not been up to visiting anyone the past month as feeling so ikky, but on the mend now. Know what you mean about your men folk not liking games. My hubby doesn't like doing anything except watching TV!! My son will play a few games with me though. "love letter" is one of his favourite. https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/129622/love-letter
I'm kinda intrigued about your solo games and will have to look up the one you mention Sprawlopolis, defo my kinda thing.
Super journal pages and yes I have a similar photo of my son and pancakes. We wouldn't have had any except for him doing them for lunch that day, just the 2 of us. Hugs BJ#8

That’s tricky when you’re a games lover and the rest of the family aren’t - I play different games with individuals according to preference but the game that unites us all is Newmarket, we gamble with buttons from my mum’s box. I’ve never heard of Sprawlopolis before. I’m a bit addicted to online Jigsaws though!

Your collages are beautiful, you have some lovely images in them. I have never heard to Sprawlopolis but it it's that difficult I don't think it's for me! Love the swimming pic, it really looks like a warm summer's day but I bet it was chilly!
Hope you have a lovely week,

I know I'm late but want to try and get round before bed. I love board games but don't get much chance to play. Loving your collage pages and great to see you getting some time for swimming too. Wishing you a very happy woyww and sending hugs, Angela x15x

I looked up the game and sent my daughter a link as she likes games. Tell Alex to try a little ice cream with that mixture! Not sure about the Nutella as it’s not a product I have bought, but the rest sounds great! Happy WOYWW. Angela #5 xx

arocLovely Journal pages, Caro but it is the card game that intrigues me. I had no idea there were games for one person. Obviously I knew about Patience but not any others. Must look up the one you mention and find out all about it. Might be better with one that has better odds for me to win.
Keep enjoying the swims.

Well turns out you’re a collage talent too if you ask me, these pages are just lovely, they drew me in and made me look around I can tell you. The pancakes…OOh despite my sweet tooth, not for me, I prefer them savoury if at all, but we do always observe the tradition! I don’t mind a board game either, but have to say I had no idea there were ones you could play solo…I’ve zoomed in and think I understand why this one is so fiendish. If you can’t beat it very often, I think I’d be tipping the table over in frustration!!

Your collages are fabulous - really like them a lot. And like you I love games. My son as well, but as he is so far away, we don't get to play together (although he claims we could play Sherlock Holmes, Consulting Detective over Zoom, we've not tried...yet!) I will look in to the one you show - I love the name!
Enjoy your Swim.
Criminally late for WOYWW this week :(
