WOYWW 696

Hello and welcome back to my blog for another edition of What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday, hosted by the lovely Julia.

This is my desk as it is right now - a mug of tea on the go, a box of tissues and my computer ready for typing up this blog post.  Everything else has been put away for now. Unfortunately my cold has not yet disappeared and I have developed a very irritating cough to add to the fun! I have tested about 4 times and do know that it isn't covid - it's just my usual autumnal stinky cold. Another week and I will be back to normal but in the meantime I am working and trying to avoid coughing over everyone - thank goodness I am not lecturing this week!

I was so pleased that I was well enough to travel on Saturday to go to the WOYWW crop.  It was so lovely to see everyone and sit gently chatting and pretending to craft (much more chatting than crafting). I didn't take as many photos as some of the others (too busy chatting) so have just included a couple here.

These were the goodies I picked up - the resin cone was my raffle prize and the others were wonderful creations swapped on the day.

I did make some ATCs for swapping and a little packet with a couple of chocolates in for each person (I do have some spares so those of you who were missing, if you would like one, do get in touch)

I did do a small, simple doodly type of page in my art journal to remember the day - nothing special just playing with colours and patterns. I cannot begin to tell you how special it was to see everyone, even if some special people were missing.

Back row: Eva, Neet, Cindy, Julia
Middle row: Jo, Annie, Angela, Chris, Helen & Angela
Front row: Dee, Christine & Sarah

That's all from me for now (not well enough to swim).  Take care and I hope to do a better job of visiting everyone this week,

With love & God Bless,

Caro

Thank goodness it isn't Covid. DD started with a cough that she had for less than 12 hours and she DID test positive for Covid! The damn virus has a LOT to answer for. I can see Julia was right when she siad you were "powered by tea" LOL!
Feel better soon so you can get back to swimming :)
Happy WOYWW, on time!

Second time around for me with this comment. The internet keeps going down and I have to open a door and poke my head out a bit to get a connection - and it is pouring with rain! (We are away again)
Well, Caro, it was lovely seeing you. Was surprised you managed to make it as I knew how much you were suffering with that cold from your last post. Glad you made it and hope the journey back did not tire you too much after a full day of excitement.
Thank you so much for the lovely ATC and the delightful chocolates, such a nice idea. I did share mine, me having the dark one and my oh the milk.
Hope that cold finds somewhere to go soon and that cough does not linger either. There are lots of lakes and places waiting for you to go for a swim.
Take care, Bless you
Hugs, Neet 5 xx

Love your journal doodle, something on those lines could work in my bible methinks, I really need to get more creative in there. Glad I have reminded you of your challenge in yours. Just curious, what's your preferred translation as I've come up a lot of challenging thoughts from America on the one I have used the past 25yrs so I'm asking lots of people. Super ATC too. BJ#6

Hi Caro. I was so sorry to miss seeing everyone last Saturday. It certainly looks as though the day came up to expectations - lots of chat, cake and only the smallest amount of crafting!
Hope your cold and cough soon disappear.
Take care. God bless.

I'm late today as we had a log delivery yesterday and stacking it wore me out!

Glad you enjoyed the crop, Caro. I hope your cold is better soon. Lots of hot honey, lemon and ginger is my recipe for recovery, with whisky at night.
Your crop photos are lovely; I adore that resin cone. I hope to be able to attend next year.It was lovely to discover on Favebook that we were at Sheffield Uni at the same time.
Take care

Oh I’m sorry you haven’t t been able to shake off the cold yet, and so glad that you made it on Saturday, although it must have been a huge effort, we did very much appreciate seeing you. Gentle chatting was definitely the order of the day, and the luxury of face to face chat will never be taken for granted again! Good to see the tea is being kept topped up, get well soon, the chilly waters of Sheffield are missing you! Xx
