Just a little bit sad (WOYWW)

I am just a little bit sad having discovered that Alex is going to have to have glasses.  I was expecting him to need them eventually (both Tim and I are as blind as bats), but not this soon.  The odd thing about all this is that he is not short-sighted, rather he has one long sighted eye and one normal eye.  The glasses will hopefully help them balance out which will make life easier for him in the long run.  He was very good at the opticians, coping well with the drops, and was only sad that he wasn't able to take his glasses home that day!
Anyway, enough of my mummy woes...here is my desk as part of WOYWW where I am in the process of making a scrapbook layout.  All the elements are cut out and ready to stick down.  At the back of my desk, in front of the wooden tray you can see a pile of clear stamps.  They have been left out since a crafting session with alex where he made a card for 'the girl he is going to marry' (his words) Ella! He makes something for her every week, and it has to feature pink and fairies on it somewhere as he knows that she likes them.  Aaah, young love! Needless to say my stamps now need cleaning.  You can also see my trusty mug of tea, DST, craft knife and various pens/pencils etc.
Here is the completed layout, a relatively simple one making the most of the BoBunny background paper, and taking inspiration from the colours in that and the boys tops.  The layout follows sketch #206 from Nuts About Sketches, and fits with Lasting Memories 'layers' challenge (there are 5 layers in most of this, with 6 in some places).  I am also entering this into Kaboodle Doodles 'circles and squares' challenge.  That is all from me for now.  Have a great rest of the week everyone.
Love,
Caro

Hi Caro, Whilst I can understand your concern over Alex he will love his specs. My little neighbour has just got his and he looks so cool..... only trouble is that he broke the first pair on the same day he got them!!!
Great LO there!

Great layouts, Caro. I am sure Alex will cope with his glasses - I am long in one and short in the other - can never remember which is which - but don't often wear my specs! (bad, I know!)

Fab layout. My son is long sighted even though I'm short sighted, he had to wear glasses and patches cos of a lazy eye from young. But the good news as he's grown up (he's nearly 14) his sight has improved to the point of nearly not needing glasses at all. Take care & enjoy this weeks snoop of WOYWW desks. Zo xx 77

I remember how excited I was to get my first pair of glasses at age nine. I didn't know what I had been missing! I could see the leaves on the trees!! I hope he loves them! Thanks for sharing your desk!
