WOYWW 550 - the pre-Christmas edition!

Another Wednesday in December and another glimpse of my desk courtesy of Julia (the creator of the What's on your Workdesk Wednesday phenomenon).
To be honest this week has been a bit of a write off - Alex was ill with a temperature of 103 for three days and then gave the lurgy to me!  Hence the box of tissues on my desk. I have been ill for five days so far and although I am slowly improving, I am still not well and am beginning to get fed up.  It is a proper flu and I have felt truly revolting. Anyway, enough moaning, here is my desk - I have managed to fill the lovely little stockings that Jan made with little chocolates and a candy cane ready to decorate the Christmas table.  You can also see my little diary, my mug of tea and my box of tissues (This is my fifth box of tissues since Friday - someone turn the tap in my nose off please!).
That is all from me for now... not up to writing any more. I hope all your Christmas preparations go well and that you all have a wonderful Christmas Day next week. Stay well and warm!
With love & God Bless,
Caro

Oh no, the dreaded flu! At least you didn't get it for Christmas and hopefully the whole family will be back on their feet by next week. Thanks for your visit earlier, Caro, despite you feeling poorly. I'm running a bit late with my rounds, otherwise I would have stopped by earlier. Wishing you all a very happy Christmas and hope to see you next year! xx zsuzsa #19

Oh Caro, poor you... I am so sorry to hear you've been so poorly. Still, better to get the worst of it over and done with this week and hopefully be better by Christmas. Sorry Alex had it too. Do you use those balsamic tissues? When you are snorting constantly, they really help prevent that awful sore nose you get from regular ones. I love the little red stockings on your desk.

Thank you for your lovely comment - so glad you like the Tudor gown! If you pop back, I have just updated the photos with better ones that a friend took this afternoon, complete with the jewellery I wore. I'm really pleased with how it all turned out, and even more that I was actually able to complete it in time - just! It's taken me a few days to recover from all that effort. Glad you like the shawl my friend gave me, too. She and I share a passion for bright colours!

Have a lovely Christmas.
Hugs and God bless, and happy WOYWW,

When you have proper flu you certainly know about it and I can imagine just what you are going through. Luckily I don't seem to get colds and certainly not flu, since I had the 'jab' because of my asthma (and age, groan), just get a bit of a cold that never really develops at times but mainly am clear.
Sounds as if your lovely boy was suffering, but such a shame that he passed it on to you. At this time of year you can ill afford to be laid low with the aches of flu - and you had the runny nose too! Rest and fluids are all that will help so do try to get both when you can. Take care, it can linger a while.
Hope you do start to feel better soon and that you can enjoy your Christmas. Sending wishes for a Happy Christmas for you and the family.
Hugs, Neet 11 xx
