WOYWW 624 (12th year Anniversary!)

Welcome back to my blog for the 12 year anniversary of WOYWW (What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday) hosted brilliantly and lovingly by the wonderful Julia, Queen of the Desks. I originally joined this happy gang just after the 1st anniversary and had a four year hiatus in the middle before returning, and I do love the fun and warmth of the weekly desk hop around the world.

Here is my desk as it looked yesterday (today it is a work desk so just laptop on it).  You can see my two main journals (the one on the left is a bullet journal, the one on the right my general journal) and various pencils and pens as I update them.  Towards the back you can see my mug of tea (nearly empty), and a postcard and ATC that arrived from Jan. At the very back of my desk is a large envelope containing a card of a local scene (couldn't locate a postcard, this was the next best thing), and an ATC and various little bits for my swap person this week.  My ATCs to all other agreed swaps have now gone in the post.

This is the close up of Jan's lovely postcard and ATC. Isn't her watercolour beautiful!

Crafting wise this week I have finished my ATCs (I will show them another time so they are a surprise for the recipients) and got my diary up to date so here are the diary pages.

The weather has been insane so I have swum in both rain and shine (I managed to avoid the hailstorms), with this place being the most magical swim this week (moody and overcast). Especially as once I got out of the water a family of goslings came swimming gently by.

I had to leave you with this hilarious photo of me doing my best impression of a mermaid in rather murky water! Happy Anniversary everyone...here's to another 12 years! I look forward to when we can celebrate together in person. Take care and stay safe,

With love & God Bless,

Caro

WOYWW 623

Hello and welcome back to my blog on a surprisingly sunny morning after the most incredible Thunderstorm last night. It is time for another edition of What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday, hosted by the lovely Julia.

So here is my desk... I was in the middle of making my Mum's birthday card.  You can see peg stamps, ink pads, my nearly empty mug of tea (it was late last night), pritt stick, and scissors.

This is the resultant card...Can I confess to not feeling at all inspired about this one, but I thought the image looked like her little dog JJ. The reason for my lack of mojo is that the house is in chaos as the electricians still haven't finished and the central heating company have been pulling up carpets and floorboards left, right and centre.  It is a nightmare but we will get there in the end, I just don't know when!

I have escaped the chaos to both go for a run and a swim or two, and even managed to make a start on my ATCs for next week's anniversary so if you would like one please let me know in the comments and send me your address to carostaton (at) gmail (d0t) com. They will go in the post next Wednesday.

That's all from me for now. I will leave you with this photo of a Tawny Owl who likes to sit in this spot on a tree near a primary school in Sheffield. Do take care everyone and stay safe,

With love & God Bless,
Caro

WOYWW 622 (I think!)

Having been missing in action for a couple of weeks it is time to welcome you back to my blog for another edition of What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday by the lovely Julia.

Here is my desk as it was last night - in a rare and happy moment of crafting while trying to get my diary up to date.  I am still three weeks behind, but getting there!  You can see my nearly empty mug of tea, the diary, pen, and transfers I am using.

Here are the latest two pages showing Easter, Alex's birthday and our trip to Mum's in Somerset.

The reason I have been missing for the past two weeks is that we have been having a full house re-wire (this picture gives some idea of the destruction) and I have spent every evening after work cleaning and tidying so we can sleep and eat.  The mess has been unbelievable (they finish on Friday hopefully), and next week, to add to it all, we are having a new central heating system put in!

Due to all the cleaning and tidying I haven't managed to swim during the weeks, but I have had some lovely swims at the weekends - this was on Saturday - a beautiful swim with a friend (9 degrees in the water, 8 degrees out!).  That's all from me for now - short and hopefully sweet.  Do take care everyone.

With love & God Bless,

Caro

WOYWW 619

Hello and welcome to my blog for a very special (and picture heavy) edition of What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday courtesy of the lovely Julia.

Here is my desk, as taken yesterday evening.  The observant among you will notice that I am missing my usual large mug of tea - Tim had taken it to re-fill it! As you can see I am in the process of working in my various journals - the one towards the back of the desk is my bullet journal, and the second one is my little Hobonichi weeks that you usually see with photos in.

These are the two pages I have been working on - an exercise tracker and a book shelf of the books I have read this year.

The reason that this is a very special edition of what's on your workdesk is that courtesy of being in a long distance bubble, I got to go to Somerset to see my Mum for 5 days for the first time since Christmas. It was so special!

As you can see her garden is looking stunning with all the Spring flowers. Sorry this was such a picture heavy post. I hope you are all well. Do take care and stay safe, especially as things are opening up more.  As ever, shout if I can help with anything.

With love & God Bless,
Caro

WOYWW 618

Welcome back to my blog for another edition of What's on your workdesk Wednesday (WOYWW) hosted by the lovely Julia. Apologies for missing last week - I was involved in the medical school final year OSCE exams which went on all week. It was so lovely to see people in person for a change - the most people I have seen in over a year. The good thing about it was that everyone had taken lateral flow tests in advance and everyone was masked up so it all felt very safe.

Anyway, enough about work, you are here to see my desk. This is my desk in the process of getting my diary up to date. Rub-ons, journal, pens etc all on display, and a nearly empty mug of tea in need of a re-fill.

Here are the most recent completed journal pages, from March, all of which feature Alex and swimming! For the record I swam 17 times in March and having swum 5 times in April so far, have now swum every month of the year.

I have also made a couple of birthday cards - one for my mother-in-law and one for Alex's 14th birthday.`

He had a lovely day including online gaming with friends and cousins, meeting friends for a nerf war in the park, and testing out his new bicycle, finishing off with pizza oven pizza, a film and home made birthday cake. Mission successful!

That's all I have to report for now. Take care and stay safe everyone.

With love & God Bless,

Caro
